The Universal Pictures 75th Anniversary theme was written by Academy Award Winner James Horner. Of course, the original theme had already been around for a while, but James was able to expand on it...I'm not sure if he wrote the "standard" piece or not. The most recent theme for Universal Pictures (starting in 1997) was written by the late Jerry Goldsmith, another Academy Award winning composer.
