I've got Motorola Q9 and it's a bit different-you have got to hold E and Z for couple seconds and it hard resets itself-anyway, how much did it take for your phone to switch on again, cause mine is stuck for more than 15 minutes :(

@showergel1 It's been a while but it certainly wasn't that much. 15 min.s sounds excessive. Sorry it took me so long to answer. I hope by now you've been able to figure this out. I ended up giving my motoq to my daughter's to play with and now it has magically disappeared....

I also terribly regret getting this phone. I read lots of awesome reviews all over the web before buying it. I have the silver one, my friends have black and pink. The black one crashed, mine just did yesterday, I was talking to a friend, and it suddenly went off. The reset thing didn't work on it.

@femiluv I just feel really bad for those who paid full price for this thing. Companies have absolutely no scruples whatsoever. I'm sorry the reset didn't work for you. Mine is still being used for the game that comes with it but I have to constantly plug it in and it doesn't always charge properly... very strange. As long as my daughter likes it... Someday I'll destroy it like they did in the Barats and Bereta double dragon video :)

Obrigado pelo vídeo. Quando comprei esse telefone eu achei um lixo. Fiquei sem coragem de trocar por outro pois teria de gastar. Mas eu coloquei o wm 6.1 em inglês e o telefone virou outro. Ficou muito bom. Hoje posso dizer que após 2 anos de uso continuo o aparelho é bom pra caramba. Uso o carregador lento na bateria original e ela dura 03 dias inteiros sem precisar recarregar. Comprei no ML, ele carrega 350map hora. Abraço.

@RSSDBAM2 Puxa, muito obrigado pelo comentario otimo e dica. Mas vou confessar minha ignorancia e dizer que nao sei o que e o wm 6.1. Sera que ainda vale a pena fazer esse upgrade apesar de nao usar ele mais como telefone? O meu atual e da Virgin Mobile e eu pago por minuto mesmo. O mais simples possivel ja que so uso ele para raramente ligar para casa e trabalho. Mas o Q virou joguinho portatil para minha filha.

@RSSDBAM2 - Sim eu acho muito bom se você atualizar para o windows mobile 6.1 hoje provavelmente você tem o 5 que é muito ruin (na minha opinião). Hoje como tem esse sistema operacional de alternativa para ele então é bem interessante fazer a atualização. E é fácil. No orkut tem explicações de como estar fazendo essa atualização. E ficará bem interessante. Desde que compatível com o seu tel. Um abraço e novamente obrigado.

@Blakc3 Thank you very much. Unfortunately I don't have the know how to do other videos on the subject. Cel phones frustrate the heck out of me and this video was made after trying to get answers from the companies themselves and finding out they don't care. I finally switched phones this last month to one from Virgin mobile and when I called Verizon, they were rude and very unhelpful. No surprise. Now, it's not that Virgin will be better, but now I have no contract and it was way cheaper.

Great vid, but I need a solution for a diff problem. This only started the other night. The phone shut itself off for some reason and when I went to turn it back on, it freezes at the blue Windows Mobile screen and I can't do anything with it after that. Ever heard of or experienced this?

Sorry it took so long for this response but I've been searching for an answer to your problem and I can't find it. I hate to say this but I had a similar problem with the refurbished phone they sent me to replace my first broken one. Needless to say I sent that one back too.

My Q actually turned on fully the other night after about half an hour, so I was able to get my contact list from it.

Is there any way to save the contacts onto my memory card? I've been all through it and can't find a selection menu for it. I'll be getting a Nokia E72 some point soon hopefully, so the Q is gonna get trashed!!

my understanding is that the hard reset will erase everything including old passwords. if you can't get in to the phone anyway and have pretty much lost the info in it due to password and don't mind losing everything... I would just go ahead and try this out. let me know how it went. I never had a password on mine. but as the comments show below, it doesn't help every problem unfortunately.

Maybe it depends on whether you like touch screen. It seems like a very nice product. For me, I confess to be on the cheap side and will look for a phone I can get for free with a new contract. Only two months left on mine. I think a phone with a complete keypad (all letters) is nice if you plan on texting, emailing, writing documents on the go,etc. if you don't plan on that, then a flip phone is what I'm looking at.

Unfortunately I've had to do this a couple more time recently as my phone continues to go bad on me though I'm less inclined to change service now as I've found the prices at verizon to be higher for the same service. I may go with AT&T. Must do more research.
