I gotta say, I like the more drawn out background music in this song, which shows that the song that would become Symphonies was cut down in length so it could receive more radio airplay, but I like Symphonies' lyrics much better; it's not as explicitly sexual as HYPNTZ while actually holding more meaning. HYPNTZ sounds like a typical I-wanna-bang-you song while Symphonies sounds more like 'I want more out of life' or to 'I want to enjoy and be true to myself' rather than wanting lots of sex.

The guy cannot sing for crap, sorry. The song's not even his, the original is by Jack Nitzsche for the movie Starman. I work within the composing arena myself and I know I'd be incredibly pissed if somebody remixed my track like this.

The video is just nothing that couldn't be chucked together with a handy cam and a few holidays abroad :) You cannot bear the original analogue synths used in the original score.

I liked what he did with the song for Symphonies. He's doing a kind of remix thing, like MIA--one of her great pieces, I think, was a song called $20, which had the bass line from Blue Monday by New Order and the refrain from Where is My Mind? by the Pixies, and she laid some heavy lyrics over it that were quite effective. Dan Black seems like he's doing a similar thing here, with combining two different songs, and then in Symphonies laying down smooth lyrics.
