  • dude!! stop fuckin wispering!!! sounds like ur tryin to seduce sum1! damn! ...but other then that...thanks for the hook up bro!

  • this vid. super helpful!!! very much appreciated

  • What, u tether over usb? Thats stupid. Why not bluetooth

  • have you figured out how to tether via WiFi yet???? you mentioned it at the end.

  • i dont get the pda icon on my computer my phone said it is on but no icon

  • hey i didnt watch the whole video but how fast does it load youtube videos????????

  • speak english?

  • where did you get that background on your droid? its nice...

  • how do u do it for the ipod touch?

  • slowww 3g man. my house got about 2300kb/s down and 1700kb/s up. and yes you can game online with it, or i can. played COD MW2 online and Bad Company 2. no lag. but you did say it is much ffaster in other placeses. like just across town here is half the speed of my house.

  • would i be able to play online with my xbox?

  • @FJCM91 no not with pda net. the computer sees it as a dialup connection. maybe with easy tether or wifi tether for net users, buth then you have to root the phone and make sure you install a net filter enabled kernel.

  • Is this tethering voiding verizon's terms and services?

  • Does tethering to a computer void the terms of service of Verizon Wireless?

  • This is great ! however i had a couple problems with pingtest.net it appeared to be malicious..

  • Does this take up minutes? Data? Because I'm frightened I'm gonna wind up with a huge bill. Please reply!!!

  • when i get pda net turned on it doesnt register with my computer. I keep getting a ".......windows needs to install driver software for yor motorola a855"...message. what do i do?

  • does pdanet work on the htc incredable? i need to know asap

  • @dewayne73 IT DOES!!!! but you have to use either bluetooth or cable

  • NO WAY I i upgraded from a treo 700wx & updated 2 a droid

  • u need to speak UP!

  • If I tether with pda net or bluetooth do i get charged for downloading? If not do I have the 5GB cap?

  • What is the video camera you are using to shoot this?

  • stoner for sure, but who cares?

  • Great tip, thank you... but you did sound like you were whispering so as not to wake someone up.

  • Well AJ you seem like your quite the expert on what makes someone a homosexual. Are you speaking from experience?

  • I couldn't help but notice that you had Gawker sites bookmarked which is awesome

  • would have loved to watch this, but WE CAN'T HEAR YOU! even with headphones it's unbearable. Too bad you wasted your time on this.

  • OMG. do you live with your parents or something?!!?!? SPEAK UP FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!! Your voice makes me want to toss my droid into the monitor.

  • u sound so lazy!!

  • no, PDAnet is not officially supported by Verizon so it is not tracked by Verizon so you would not have to pay the fees normally associated with tethering.

  • @BrianAnim really it wont cost for that server ? but i see on list say will cost for that server verizon how sound is ?

  • Is this free?

  • I mean does this require the 30 dolla tethering fee?

  • i did this and it works very well.. just remember to download the pda net app on the phone before installing it on the computer. the phone acts as a modem so it wont find it until the phone is ready and acting as a modem. you can find the app by searching for pdanet in the marketplace

  • awesome video. very explanatory

  • hey, thanks for posting this video. question for you...i am using a Verizon broadband card that I use on my netbook; costs me $60 month. The speed is enough to let me stream and see Slingbox! Firstly, Verizon tells me that if I tether, it will be $30 for the tethering (plus $30 for the basic unlimited internet plan required for Blackberry). Is this true, or does your app get around that secondary $30 charge? Secondly, will the tether be fast enogh to run Slingbox? Thanks!

  • do you have to pay to tether it or does it not show up as that but just as regular data usage?

  • nice little info at the end, but why would you be at a BestBuy with a laptop and needing to use it. just use on of the ones they have already hook up? just saying

  • is the pp free or if it is not how much is it?

  • hey do u need that app on ur computer to run it also

  • whatever camera you're using is beautiful. such great quality.

  • where did you get the computer theme???

  • its windows 7

  • Motorola Droid giveaway at Gadgetton. com. It's your lucky day! gorgeous video...

  • Lol yea, that would be kewl if you could turn your droid into a wifi router...but not there yet.

  • thats it im getting the droid! I have the palm pre and i cant tether it with pretty much hacking the phone and rooting it and all this other crazy nonsense.

  • Wait for the htc passion/bravo/incredible for verizon it will have 1ghz snapdragon.

  • u can root ur droid now

  • I know one thing, your using a Good Ass Camera.

  • @RealGame22 Correction. One BAD ASS Camera

  • yea man wtf why are you talking so low..... the video is helpful but i have to shut down aim or anything else that makes sound jus so i can put my speakers on max to hear you.....wtf

  • why are u practically whispering. TALK fuker

  • wats tethering

  • something the iphone is supposed to offer, just not to US reisdents, even tho its fucking designed in california, why would they not offer it to their homeland.

what it does is pretty much wifi, but thru your phone, its really sick. oh and wi fi is wireless internet, and the internet is what your on right now

  • @sublimeboy245 lol yea something is wrong w/ apple n thanks for the info

  • Wonder how long before VZW nukes this app's ability to work, since normally they charge between 15 and 30 dollars to add tethering to your smartphone. And this app lets you do it free.

  • not to mention the 5gb limit on data usage while tethered, that this won't fal victim to.

  • Have You Figured Out How To To This Via Wifi?

  • There's no point in doing it if you have WiFi. It's only for when your computer can't connect to the internet, but your phone can via the 3G network.

  • I think he's referring to having the droid broadcast its internet (from 3G) over wifi so any wifi capable device in range can use verizon's 3G.

But to the host, are you sure the droid can broadcast wifi? Receiving wifi and broadcasting it are two completely different things..

  • @wooferpoofer

Yes it can broadcast wifi. The phone needs to be rooted though (instructions available online). It has been done, look up droid wifi tethering on google

  • how much is it is it a app

  • The app for the droid is free

  • whats tethering

  • @hollister62191 If your out and there is no wifi for your laptop to connect to, but your cell phone gets 3G internet, you can conect your computer to your cell phone to get internet on your laptop.

  • Can you do this for mac's?

  • currently right now there is no mac support as you need a application to be downloaded on your computer and they dont have a mac version of this program.

  • Comment removed

  • Data rates look pretty solid. I guess verizon's EVDO isn't really as fast as AT&T's UMTS with HSDPA/HSPA+ upgrades in place but I would rather have 3G everywhere than only in select places, tethering with EDGE sucks a big one....good review.

  • do you get charged for this?

  • Hey, what case are you using and where did you get that awesome wallpaper? It almost looks 3d in the vid...

  • I did this and im so happy hopefully verzion wont take it off or charge ....

  • This is awesome. Is the pdaNET program already on the Driod or do you have to download it some how, and if you do have to how do you do that?

I agree with andyblue1. The quite voice gets annoying after awhile.

  • Check out my other video, it explains everything in much more detail.

  • You're video is so low, man. It's difficult to hear.

  • when the rooted droid comes out will u will post a how to video?

  • Yup I'll have one up as soon as possible

  • subcribed, awesome vid dude

  • so your telling me i can basically go on my laptop. On the road like for long trips

  • Yes, it uses VZW's 3G data connection and converts it into a WiFi hotspot. Don't use this excessively though (like play online games) or download tons of stuff because if VZW catches you, you're dropped off their service.

  • this has the best audio of any video i've ever seen. Amazing.

  • how do u get pda net on the droid?

  • so basically your Droid becomes a portable router?

  • no it becomes like a vzw air card...

  • Sorry about the low audio. My GF was sleeping in the other room. Next video I upload I will speak up!

  • So is this free? meaning you just pay the data plan and thats it, not tethering plan for verizon. Cause if it is, wow my droid just got that must more awesome. DROID *making the noise*

  • If using PDAnet you are using the data connection on your phone that you already pay $30/month for. Verizon will not know whether you are using this data connection on your phone or on your laptop. So as far as monthly charges go it is free, but PDAnet will cost you a flat $30.00 to purchase the software.

  • can you please make a video on how to get pdanet? thanks

  • great vid, but dude, Speak the Hell Up. It was like you were affraid to wake your mom.

  • just out of curiosity, is this using your unlimited data usage.

  • Yes it is using the data you already pay for.

  • cool video, audio a bit quiet
