@Hardgainer2008 I was wondering if anyone knows the exact details of how it works, like at what time do you have to AG for the chip to be negated. I don't think it's possible to negate the chip from an entire super, for example, even if you have perfect timing.
Yes, you can negate the chip for the entire super. The same youtube video that first had her stunlock, also explained this. Pushblock has a duration immediately after you do it where you don't take chip. Pushblock immediately before every hit, and you take 0 chip. The timing isn't tight at all.
A smart Jill player might delay one of them, to get their opponent to hit 3P while not in blockstun, though.
Why are the top comments whining about a sequel to an awesome game coming out? Fuck you I want more MvC to pool hundreds of hours into because of much fun I had with MvC3.
@GrandmasterX I understand that, but I still can't shake the feeling that I think they're releasing this too soon. I may eventually get it down the road but I can tell you that this is definitely NOT a day one purchase for me. I admit I did have a lot fun with the last game, don't get me wrong.
@GrandmasterX Agreed. If you are salty about Ultimate then speak with your wallet, but don't tell me that a game isn't fun or worth my money just because of your pretentions.
@GrandmasterX Agreed. If you are salty about Ultimate then speak with your wallet, but don't tell me that a game isn't fun or worth my money just because of your pretentions.
Am I missing something in fighting games? Is it supposed to be strategy or just trying to do mega combos? I mean they're cool to look at but when I play online, its not really a battle. It feels like the other person just does the combo and puts no thought into it. No thrill of battle. Am I alone in this or is something over my head? I'm not trying to be smarky, I'm legitly asking
@MacosmiconL Trust me, there's a lot of strategy involved. It's just that the strategy isn't in doing combos, it's in getting in on your opponent in order to start those combos while not allowing him to do the same. It's in learning the setups, mix-ups, frametraps, it's in reading your opponent and taking risks when you feel like you know what he's going to do next. As the players get better, the games get more and more complex and they are forced to think about more things at the same time.
@Boonehams you do realize the point of the clip was that thor, the highest health character in the game, nearly got chipped to death from a setup that is literally impossible to escape right?
1.) With five seconds of research, you can find out it's easy to pushblock the whole level 3 and take 0 chip.
2.) Thor could have escaped it the second he landed, after the first mad beast kick.
It's an amazing video, but that's easily the most questionable clip in it. Why even set a dummy to random pushblock, as if to simulate a player that knows what he's doing?
@ProzacStylings with five seconds of research you would know that push blocking doesnt negate that hits chip, it negates the next hits chip if it occurs within a certain number of frames (beam supers for example can have their chip basically cut in half if you push block it correctly). You should also know that the massive blockstun prevents thor from jumping out when he lands, this set up has been known about for months and been proven to be inescapable for certain characters. the more you know
When pushblock's chip-invulnerability takes place is moot. You delay the pushblock so it negates the chip from the following hit, and repeat. Taking 0 chip from Jill's level three stunlock is considerably easier than DOING Jill's level 3 stunlock.
The blockstun from the initial setup also ends, as all blockstun does, when thor lands, leaving ample time to SJ out, or counter with anything that beats arrow kick, which doesn't have amazing priority.
@ProzacStylings i guess you know better than srk, the videos creator and many others. this set up has been known about since a few weeks after the jill dlc was released, the only way to get out of it are x factor cancels or an invincible super as youre coming in, like hard drive. by all means if you can properly replicate this set up then prove that its so easy to escape by uploading a video, but hey maybe youre right maybe that clip is pointless and the author put it on for no reason. doubt it
Whether that particular setup is escapable or not(it is), is moot. As I said, it does 0 chip if you know how to deal with it. I'm sorry you're in love with it, but it's about as useful as Dante's Million Crystal "crossup"(re: not useful at all).
Theres NO way you could pull these off online...Absolutely no way. Want to know why? Because by the time your halfway through these combos theyre reaching for the ethernet cord while simultaneously writing a rage letter in shame. Your reply:
@GreekGod88 Honestly, even if I had known UMvC3 would come out I still would've bought this game. Maybe it's not worth the money, but it was definitely worth the time.
@InsertSh33p The game is far more balanced than the previous title, regardless if he doesn't mind that why would he listen to you? Think of it this way, at least we're actually getting updated games instead of diddling with our thumbs until 10 years later there is another installment. And what you are saying is you'd rather a more content filled game not to have come out and let the VS series die again?
@AsianBM55 If you played this game religiously for a few months, I'd say it's well worth the price of the game. Some people buy games to beat it once or twice and be done with it within a few weeks. MvC3 has definitely been worth buying for most people, seeing that a lot of us still play it 7 months later.
@AsianBM55 Personally, I feel that as long as you had fun with the game, it was worth the money, regardless of how soon it is before the game is replaced by something better (a game you have more fun playing) or its sequel. So I do agree with you. :) Thanks for being coherent and not embittered.
@AsianBM55 damn right, I could never be mad that I got well over 500 hours and counting from a $60 game, and I'll buy ultimate day 1 while happily pocketing the $20 difference in price. I spent A LOT more money in arcades to play a game you could never take home...it's all worth it to me.
Heck, how many movies do you own that you bought and watched once (not counting when you saw it in a theater)...1 blu ray and a movie ticket is ~$40 with far far far less replay value.

@Kelohmello Nah.. i dont care about ranking ,me and 3-4 people on my friendlist are noobs and buying it, so there will be people on my skill level dont worry :P
@GreekGod88 8 months is a long time to wait for a game. Most games can be beat in a day or two yet people pay 60 bucks for them. And considering how Ultimate is only 40 I think buying the original was well worth it.
@GreekGod88 Knowing that this expansion was in the works...I understand that Capcom has a history of doing this but it's hard to say you expected this when the series has never done this in the past.
@Negativedemon98 hmm not really they do the same with SF and after reading how barebones the game in terms of content was(Arcade,Training,Online/Vs) and other people kept bringing up a Super Marvel vs Capcom 3 on Internet forums i decided to wait ^^
@GreekGod88 It's cool, I bought the original MvC3 and will probably eventually buy this sometime later. I like a lot of new stuff they added but it's the principle behind it all that makes me unable to support it.
You're probably right about SFxTekken too, I'm just gonna wait after that comes out. It's funny how it looks like it's coming out sometime next year despite Capcom claiming it'd be "2 more years" before it hits consoles.
wait. the second combo, the first one after the title showed, how did u do 2 ground bounces with Ammy?

With that Jill blockstring infinite, why do some of the hits do no chip damage?

@cyborgLIS Because that's what pushblocking does. While you're in the pushblocking animation, you take no block damage.

@cyborgLIS Because if the opponent perfectly does advancing guard at just the right time it negates the damage.
