Last time GSU played a team near the top of the AP poll, it was UGA in 2008. They got down 38-0, and eventually lost 45-21. Not quite a BCS buster there Kudzu.

App state beat the same Michigan team who ended up beating Florida the year Tebow won the Heisman in the gator bowl. And southern beat App state that year. Not to mention when we played #3 UGA in 04 we lost 28-41 but put up more points on UGA in that game than any other team did that season. I wouldn't go as far as to say they will win or have a decent shot, but if they keep it pretty close and respectable it could be interesting. College football is full of surprises.

@soccerdrummer13 That was also in 2008 during the Chris Hatcher era which was a bad experiment. From 2006-2010, GA Southern turned away from triple option and had their worst years in their history. GA Southern is at their best when they are with a triple-option coach. Those are the best teams to evaluate.

@soccerdrummer13 Yeah, and that was with Chris Hatcher at the helm. We sucked then. This team is a whole different animal compared to the Hatcher teams. Don't overlook us.
