The thing was Maryland however much she may have supported the South wanted to stay neutral so her people didn't join the CSA armies to help toss out the yankee troops. Our secession was prompted by the ever increasing imbalance of congress and the two different types of economy that existed. The southern agricultural society was more elegant as compared to the harsh industry of the north. The industry i might add had much worse immigrant slave labor.

Most people up here (up North) didn't want to fight against Dixie. They simply didn't care what people that lived a lifetime away were up to. Maryland would have left if she had not been invaded....and KY and MO would not have split. West VA exist because that portion was invaded first and then they swallowed up counties that def didn't want to leave. I am from North Carolina. I personally don't think North Carolina should be allowed to be in term Dixieland. The only reason we joined the confederacy was because we were surrounded by confederate states. Governor Holden of NC hated Jefferson Davis with a passion. I will say this though, I am sure glad I am a southerner. I would grab a gun for Dixie any day.

@FIOSupaFan101 You seem to be claiming that you are an expert on the English language. In that case, I suggest that you learn to write 'English' instead of 'english.' English is a proper noun, and is capitalised, the same as American is a proper noun, and is capitalised.
*'Proper' noun is a British way of describing it, you may have a different way of describing it in the US but the same grammatical rules apply.

@afewtube False. I suggest you read a book called "The Elements of Style". The book is written by E.B. White and William Strunk Jr. The use of the book is very helpful when writing. I carry it everywhere I go. You should too. I would also suggest that you keep your sentences short. It is very easy to write a run-on sentence. Too few people know how to handle the English language well enough to write in long sentences. I applaud your efforts. Perhaps you will become a great writer one day.

I am sure you meant to type in the word "due" instead of the word "do". The comma in your fourth sentence is unneccessary. The word "your" in your fourth sentence should be the contraction "you're". You say I insult you? I would never insult you because you are doing a great job of insulting yourself.
