When singing, a person loses his accent, just listen to any Australian or Norwegian sing qnd they wont have a accent, dont ask me why, but I think it's somthing to do what the person is comfortable in singing in.

Q good example would be the person who plays house, hugh Laurie, hes British, but when he sings he sounds American.

All singers lose their accents when they sing, they don't sing with an american accent. Its not done on purpose, it's just natural. Some people who can barely speak English are able to sing and sound like it was their first learnt language.

Well, the reason why you don't hear her British accent is also because she's singing in American English. She has to, to enter and do well in the American market. You may do very well in the UK, but if you can do well in the States too, your chances of hitting international is bigger.
