  • Thank you, I stumbled upon your video today and I have played it several times in a row. Such a beautiful rendition of a wonderful song.

  • @davevarga I keep listening to your video, thank you... so fine, so fine....

  • Its so hard to find someone who can really play a friggin guitar on youtube. This made the search worth it.

  • @higzyguitarist Thanks for the kind comment, Higzy!

  • Beautiful cover of this Dylan tune! I'm trying to learn it the Nanci Griffith way.

  • this is beautiful.

  • I've been looking for a good cover of this ever since YouTube seemed to remove all the Dylan originals... search complete! Thanks for this beautiful treatment of a beautiful song.

  • @TheRFB Thanks for the kind comment.

  • Sweet!

  • Well, that was just beautiful!

  • John, very nice work!!! Thank you for sharing this w/the rest of us. For the uninitiated, this arrangement is Martin Simpson's. Tablature for it can be found on Mr. Simpson's web-site (for a small fee). There are some other tabs floating around out there at other web-sites that seem roughly accurate (ultimate-guitar, etc). You might need Guitar Pro to view them. A nod to John's comment below, yes, the tuning is CGCGCD, w/capo at 4th fret (also works in DADGAD w/a little revision).

  • Awesome version from this awsome song....I do like it from Dylan, but now it´s really dificult to choose between your version and Dylan´s....Congratulations from a Spanish girl ;)

  • Beautiful arrangment ..... !

  • awesome.. is there a tab that you got this from? i'd love to learn it.

    thanks

  • Sorry, Magnus - I worked it out by ear.

  • @magnusegill martin simpson offers a tab for this version on his website

  • @TomRAFC Wow. I forgot how good this song was.

Could you send me a link to it? I can't find it on the website...

    Thank you

  • wow....sounds ALOT like Martin Simpsons arrangement of the song....almost exactly, as a matter of fact...nice inflection

  • wow brother very coo, i really liked that! you ought to be proud of that!

  • Cheers, Johnny.

    Much appreciated.

  • Nicely done. Beautiful guitar playing. What tuning are you using for this? Open G?

  • Thanks for the comment, Holocene81.

    The tuning is CGCGCD.

    Cheers,

    John

  • Wow amazing.

  • Thanks for that, RiverKnock.

Just listened to some of your stuff - also amazing!

    John

  • Wow, excellent. Please keep it up!

  • Thanks for the kind comment, Wall.

    Keep the faith!

    John

  • Nice Martin Simpson impression with demanding twiddles. The sigh at the end made me laugh.

  • Yeah. I'm always glad to get to the end of this one. Got a nasty habit of messing up the final few bars - which after 7 minutes is a real bummer!

  • I haven't heard the origional of this, but i doubt it could be any better than this. Awesome, well done!

  • Thanks for listening, Wallstreet. It's a long song!

  • I've heard many wonderful covers of this song, but yours, I can safely say, is the best I've ever heard. Beautiful guitar playing. And you have a great voice. I love the slow pace, too - it really builds each verse up.

(BTW, yes, it is a Bob Dylan song.)

  • Thanks for the kind comments, federrocks. It's Martin Simpson's version really. I pinched it!
