@CarlArchuletaKnowles 감사 (gamsa) is a playful, informal way of saying "Thank you" in Korean. This would be used with your boyfriend/girlfriend, friends, or younger siblings. You want to use 감사합니다 in all formal situations, especially with those older than you, those in a professional setting, and with people you do not know.
@TheAnonymouslyAbsent thank you so much! I've seen some vids with korean people usually talking and I noticed some of them normally used '감사' only, so I thought of asking ^^ thanks again
One of Korea’s best-kept secrets, Ttongsul is “feces wine”. This drink is made by pouring shochu into a pit full of chicken, dog, or human feces, and leaving the mixture in the pit until it ferments. Human feces is most popular, since it’s readily available from chamber pots. It’s similar to the African drug jenkem, but unlike jenkem, Koreans actually drink the Ttongsul, out of the belief that it can cure illnesses.
@TPOTOishere I think that's just because when you're new to learning it or you're just speaking slower than the h is pronounced stronger than if you're speaking quickly/naturally. I've noticed that with a lot of Korean words as a beginning speaker we are expected to pronounce every syllable until we are able to speak quickly and naturally but when my Korean friends speak certain sounds (especially when in middle of a word) aren't as prominent/noticeable
@kathypurple8 There are a number of ways to say the same sentence in Korean. Thank you alone can be translated into many different sentences: kamsahamnida, kamsahaeyo, komawoyo, komawo, komabda.
@WithLoveYumi I never knew what that meant. I say it everyday in martial art class but I never really knew what the meaning was. I say it when we bow and stuff
@xBMTHotaku it's so hard to learn the Korean alphabet with only a book to help you because you can't be sure what the letters actually sound like. Book with CD is better or the talktomeinkorean free online korean language courses/videos are better
@samoasian Another note: Kamsahamnida is a bit more formal than gomaseumida so if you really want to express your gratitude, I would suggest Kamsahamnida.
@samoasian think of Korean as in for each phrase you want to say there are more than 3-4 ways of saying it, including all the impolite and formal terms
@Aspenfash899 only when you are leaving and you're saying that with Goodbye or as a goodbye to a person older than you. if they're giving you something, you slightly bend down and get the things with both hands while saying thank you.
Ok i love Korea i love the language and i just love u....your the best...i will write this in every video because i just cant stop loving Korea and everything about it..

I've heard thank you pronounced differently. Maybe that's more of a dialect thing? The h wasn't as prominent.

Why do other say thank in "gomawo" ?
alymerz 8 months ago
@alymerz Kamsahamnida is a formal way of saying Thank you. Used when saying it to someone older than you.
Gomawo is an informal way of saying Thank you. Used when saying it to someone the same age or younger than you.
For example, you would say Kamsahamnida to a teacher and say Gomawo to a classmate.
