Yes, the camera isn't this gen but anyone who's played a non-mario platformer from the PS1/N64 era will have no problem babysitting it. It's pretty much the only flaw with the game AT ALL and it's a forgivable one for such a great game.
I have to admit that Epic Mickey and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are amazing but that Epic Mickey passes SMG 2 by a miniscule mark. that mark being that Epic Mickey has a much better, deeper, and more satifying story.

Oh, I saw a dream of this game. Also wondered if they put Roald Dahls Gremlins in it. Dream: Young Yensid and his brother walked fast in a tunnel. Then they came in a lair where Chernabog was hiding with a magic book. Then began the epic batlle and finally Chernabog was only dust. Then suddenly Dust came a shadow that taked over yensids brother.
Oswald has his own theme song, watch Trolley Troubles, It's one of his first cartoons and the song while he drives the trolley is the theme song that you will here in just about every Oswald cartoon.
I believe so, Warren said that you go behind the actual it's a small world ride where all of the machnery is and we get to here the most catchy song played BACKWARDS! Can't wait to see this!!!

I think the paintbrush is a great idea. Paintbrush action is also seen in another great Wii Game, Okami. I think the makers of this game threw Okami and Zelda ina blender, along with some other great Disney stars and came up with this unique and scary game. This game is going to be epic, as its title suggests. Whoever thought this game was childish, really you need to see the GameInformer article about it, its really worth 5 minutes of your life to view, very good details.
This game is going to be for kids, Specter has said that. He said that Disney movies always had something that disturbed kids in a good way, and he hopes to implement some of that, but the game is still going to be child friendly. Also the brush might have been a good concept in Okami but on the Wii, the controls for it were clunky as fuck. Also the art may look disturbing, but really nothing in the screenshots reflect the concept art, even if it's for the first stage.
Just because its appealing more to the young audience does not mean it can also relate to the older audience, or us, because I believe the touch in scenery has an affect to suit the older auidence. Also, I had no problem with the controls on Okami. In fact, the controls were so good in Okami I can defeat monsters and boss battles very easily. The controls on Epic Mickey, however, are going to be hard to remember.
No, it can't. Nothing in this game was EVER made to suit the older audience. This "touch in scenery" must be referring to the concept art. The ONLY reason this game ever got hype was because of the concept art. When first screenshots and game info came, we were all let down because nothing in the game shown so far reflects the concept art. Also the controls in Okami were good for the PS2 VERSION. Not the Wii version, which was total shit. Hard to remember? They don't look complex at all.

It's not the control ITSELF that sucks, it's the fucking Wiimote. It's completely unresponsive, jags all around, NEVER goes in a straight line left to right when you want it to, and besides that anybody's hand is going to be shaky using that damn thing to draw.
Ever heard of "bad focus"? Sure, that happens for about every game you play, you just need to keep your remote focused against the sensor bar, that's how I did it, and of course sometimes its gonna break down. It's a fucking wii remote that responds to a sensor. Anything could easily make the connection with the sensor bar break.
Wii version? this game is made only for the Wii because Warren says "What would be the point of putting this on the PS3 and 360 and games like Uncharted and Halo came out?" Plus he wanted it to be in the same console as of Mario, Link, and now Sonic.

@HazeNJuice well, thats what they get for OVER-hyping their game. of course, they never mentioned anything about the camera, they only talked about the story and the the whole decision-consequences concept. they barely mentioned anything about the controls, all we knew was that you had paint and thinner.

People who adore the early ages of animation, and miss the old style Mickey once had and the old cartoon style period, are pretty damn excited.
We honestly have not seen the game in action, and the game is meant to look like a cartoon. The concept art is concept art. Have you not seen the concept art for the Star Wars movies, or the first Legend of Zelda? It's the same situation.

It's not supposed to be dark. He's supposed to be like he was in the 20's, not The Dark Knight. But it is still a far cry from cutesie tootise. Donald Duck Goin' Quakers on the N64 was cutesie toosie. Having the choice of making mickey more of a rat than a mouse definatly isn't. And I don't mean literally, I mean in a metaphorical sense.

Yes, mickey is supposed to be like the retro/classic mickey, with more flaws and personality that he had back then. I didn't say it wasn't.
But when your concept art has Zombie steampunk goofy, decaying mishmashes of classic characters, many of which are /melting/ you cannot tell me it wasn't intended to be dark.
They've turned this wonderful concept - oswald, decaying, abandoned and alone for 60 years, to drag mickey into his sick and twisted world (which it was clearly supposed to be) - into another saturday morning cartoon villian.
Everything about this game is shaping up to be a disapointment, baring the music.
Oswald isn't the main villain. The Phantom Blot is. But instead of being the cheesy fail that he was, they reinvented him. And the zombie steampunk goofy and donald and friends were Oswald's failed attempts to create his own friends out of his jealousy of little bro Mickey's success. I will agree with the concept art making it look like it's supposed to be dark, and I felt slightly misled at first. But the real idea seems awesome still. Read about it on Game Informer.
Don't you see how Oswald COULD have been this amazing villian? And I somewhat doubt that the blot was ever supposed to BE the "main" villian in the first place.
Outside of mickey's look (and possibly his personality), and obviously the classic characters appearing, nothing about this is like the early disney cartoons either, so I'm not quite sure where you're getting that from.

@PurifyingHate 11 months later and the guy who trolled was right, the controls and cam sucks, doesnt mean the game sucks though but for a very hyped up game, it really doesnt deliver

@HazeNJuice well, thats what they get for OVER-hyping their game. of course, they never mentioned anything about the camera, they only talked about the story and the the whole decision-consequences concept. they barely mentioned anything about the controls, all we knew was that you had paint and thinner.

@PurifyingHate This is after the game came out but the controls are great, it's the camera that's horrible. The game is still cool, but the camera is definitely a major gripe that they should have ironed out.

@PurifyingHate I love me some Okami (in fact, it's one of my all-time favorite video games) but Epic Mickey is still fun once you get past the crappy camera controls.

People who adore the early ages of animation, and miss the old style Mickey once had and the old cartoon style period, are pretty damn excited.
We honestly have not seen the game in action, and the game is meant to look like a cartoon. The concept art is concept art. Have you not seen the concept art for the Star Wars movies, or the first Legend of Zelda? It's the same situation.

kid like? Look into what Warren Spektor is thinking about this. He actually refused the first time Disney asked him to make a Mickey Mouse game because they screwed him up so badly. He's making this more like the 20's Mickey. Mischieviously ill-behaved. Not the cutesy tootsie "Can YOU find the yellow circle?" Mickey of today.

Yes, they made him look more retro, but the enviroments and atmosphere are anything but dark.

It's not supposed to be dark. He's supposed to be like he was in the 20's, not The Dark Knight. But it is still a far cry from cutesie tootise. Donald Duck Goin' Quakers on the N64 was cutesie toosie. Having the choice of making mickey more of a rat than a mouse definatly isn't. And I don't mean literally, I mean in a metaphorical sense.

What do you mean it's not supposed to be dark? Have you seen the concept art? Hell just look at the image above and tell me that is not supposed to be dark.
Yes, mickey is supposed to be like the retro/classic mickey, with more flaws and personality that he had back then. I didn't say it wasn't.
But when your concept art has Zombie steampunk goofy, decaying mishmashes of classic characters, many of which are /melting/ you cannot tell me it wasn't intended to be dark.

They've turned this wonderful concept - oswald, decaying, abandoned and alone for 60 years, to drag mickey into his sick and twisted world (which it was clearly supposed to be) - into another saturday morning cartoon villian.
Everything about this game is shaping up to be a disapointment, baring the music.

Oswald isn't the main villain. The Phantom Blot is. But instead of being the cheesy fail that he was, they reinvented him. And the zombie steampunk goofy and donald and friends were Oswald's failed attempts to create his own friends out of his jealousy of little bro Mickey's success. I will agree with the concept art making it look like it's supposed to be dark, and I felt slightly misled at first. But the real idea seems awesome still. Read about it on Game Informer.

Don't you see how Oswald COULD have been this amazing villian? And I somewhat doubt that the blot was ever supposed to BE the "main" villian in the first place.
Outside of mickey's look (and possibly his personality), and obviously the classic characters appearing, nothing about this is like the early disney cartoons either, so I'm not quite sure where you're getting that from.

that would have been pretty badass. he decided he "didn't want to mess with mickey too much" i would have loved that. they just gave him a smug grin instead.

Although that does eliminate a bit of the degree of choice we were originally told the game would offer, I don't think it's worth shedding tears over.
After all, Mickey was never a bad guy, just sometimes a jerk. Back in the 20s he would punch a guy in the face or throw a poor defenseless animal off screen if it angered him

This music somewhat reminds me of the Banjo Kazooie N&B music. Can't wait to see what Warren Spector is going to put in this.
