I just got myself a kronos 88 yesterday. It really sounds amazing, but there seems to be a problem with the velocity of the pianos. when I play really softly sometimes the note cuts off like if I just played a staccato and seriously that is pretty anoying. I was wondering if there were parameters in the kronos where I can adjust that or if its just mine who has that problem
@blisssanctuary Then get an OASYS for that. KRONOS has the hardware it does because they wanted to keep costs down. The OASYS was just too expensive of a keyboard to maintain and update. I have 4 OASYS 88's in the studio because of the I/O, CD Burner, Program and Combi Banks. It's built like a tank, but then at $8K a piece you'd expect that. KRONOS is HALF the price for a reason and that reason is the cheaper hardware they used to keep costs down and not to mention all the new features it has.
@CoolGuy64 And, had they kept the OASYS hardware, it would've been the same price and that would defeat the purpose as OASYS users would just upgrade to the new hardware. But at less than $4K for an 88-Note KRONOS, it's KILLING the competition...It's really amazing!
Just bought the 73, amazing piece of kit, buy this and never need another keyboard. Sold the cat, wife and kids, but it was worth it. Korg have outdone anything they ever did before and anything anyone else has done. Best on the market for value for money. Moog give you one synth, amazing synth, but Korg give you a box full. It's big, it's heavy, it's a beast, but beautiful.
1:55 looks like they upgraded the knob style since the 1st korg triton which is good because after about 10 years the dail wheel and some buttons became difficult to work with
@SketchStudioPA You sound like me when I got my OASYS 88 back in 2007! I took out a $10,000 loan to get mine and NEVER looked back. To this day I'm still in amazement with it and I have 4 of them in my studio now....I got a KRONOS 88 in September and I LOVE it! It's basically an enhanced OASYS in a cheaper case. They sound EXACTLY the same. But now that I have both, I can honestly say that they both have their strengths and I am VERY blessed to have them! So congrats on the leap, man!
@00DirectorsCut00 It has KARMA, but you can't create or edit GE's if you want to get creative. You need the software to do that. This is one aspect of KRONOS that really pisses me off, to be honest. But I'm gonna take matters into my own hands when the time is right. If Korg needs money to do that, then I'm gonna give it to them to implement it. Period. I can't STAND this fucking useless limitation! I'd be using KARMA a LOT more if I could just create and edit User GE's WITHOUT the software!
@SanPaoloFrosinone I have BOTH of the keyboards you mention, plus the KRONOS and OASYS. There is ZERO comparison between the XF8, RD700NX and KRONOS! The pianos in KRONOS are THE BEST I have EVER heard in a keyboard. Period. And that's just ONE Engine! The other 8 are just as good, but serve for what I have found to be THE most versatile array of possibilities that have competitors down to their knees. I mean that literally. Go get a KRONOS 88 and prepare to NEVER look back! :DD
Korg did it again. Another masterpiece, like the M1 and the OASYS, Kronos is destined to be one of greatest synth of all time. Can't hardly wait to get mine.
