Curly was only 42 when he suffered a massive stroke in May 1946 during the filming of the Stooges short "Half Wits Holiday" which was a remake of an earlier Stoges short entitled "Hoi Polloi". Yet, at the same time, in a way Curly asked for it. He had SEVERELY HIGH blood pressure which was caused by his obesity and his EXCESSIVE drinking. :-(
