hitting the ball with the outside of your foot is a way of spinning it like you would as if you were hitting it with you other foot, its a good way to deceive people to what your doing, also good to get more curl if your weaker on your other foot. But seriously if your even asking why is he hitting it on the outside of his foot give up on football now, you can't criticise if you didn't even realise yourself, professionals use the outside of their foot ALL the time!
