MS used this to reach out to their developer base and potential high-level clients looking for software development... a sort of edutainment / soft-sell for the virtues of architecture. Not very interesting back story I know, but marketing ideas is a broad and varied practice!
Doesn't it bother you that this exact video is in the "related videos" section and has over 18.000 views with lots of comments, yet nobody knows you guys did it because the user doesn't give you credit?
I just watched this on your website. I'm very impressed, although I'm not sure what Microsoft used it for. You deserve more views.
