  • the train wasnt on the tracks it behind it and for safety reason all buses have to use their flashers or can get a ticket and the stick had an error it wasnt on the buses and they stopped to check it out and more then likely later that day or week had the rail road construction team fiz it i know these things cuz my cousin works for the railroad

  • a buss is a part of an electrical fuse box.

  • Great catch!

In bus driver's defense, do these gates start down too early after signals begin operating?

Should be SIX seconds to allow busses and semis to clear.

Or did this driver simply stop too close to the signal? Was still out of foul of the train.

  • If I were that bus driver after I gotten out of harms way, I would given that driver a piece of my mind!

  • the conductor got off to protect the crossing and look at the gate to see if it needed some fixing after. you can see him when the units pull on to the crossing.

  • Was the driver reported to his/her supervisor?

  • i dont think he went into emergency being just two engines...it doesnt take much braking to slow down just a engine move. Lucky for the bus it wasnt a Z train.

  • Comment removed

  • i take it the bus started to cross when the lights came on, which then the driver has to stop reguardless and the guy behind the bus stopped causing the bus to get stuck on tracks for a second

  • I still think the driver should have made the car's day by just flooring it in reverse.

  • lucky for u it wasn't a long train

  • Nice catch! Aimed a little too low.

In bus driver's defense, how many seconds after (o)T(o) activation do the gates begin to descend?

    Should be 6-seconds.

There was no need to stop the locomotives. Bus was not even close to being in foul.

  • man i was waiting for the train to pass by like at 60 mph or something.

  • What the heck, who is up at 8:04 AM?

  • @chipthamac im up at 6 am :P

  • ahhhh stupid bu drivers got to love them. any race any age, they all exist.

  • my sister was on that bus. im glad they fired his azz

  • That bus driver was lucky, most trains don't slow down that much at crossings. Last time something like this happened in Ft Worth many many people died. The bus was ripped from its chassis, bottom half yards away from the crumpled top.

  • Yea right stfu I dont' see a crash fool.

  • @aw010287 with a racist remark like that I wish the train would've hit the bus with and all ur racist friends and die!!!! i jus would've felt sorry for the bus and hope the driver got out safe!!!!

  • @luvdat8v71 nice comeback

  • @luvdat8v71 thx 4 ur attention ass hole keep them coming.

  • I was on this bus!! The Driver lady was a crazy black bitch!!!!!

Glad she got fired before she killed us haha

  • no one died boooo

  • what??? no gore??? awww F***!!

  • first of all the damn bus driver shouldnt have stopped on the tracks to begin with, and there was plenty of room to back up when the train was coming

  • Embarrasing for a school bus operator.

  • this is like 3 miles from my house lol no idea his ever happend i was just randomly searching fort worth

  • In my opinion, the bus driver should have went on across the tracks. But nothing would stop me, or fellow drivers here, to push the car backwards.

  • @9sb19 I agree the Arm from the warning bar can be replaced but the 65-88 little lives you may be transporting can't and If i had ever been in the same It's be one or the other ! but just this vid alone would be enough to pull a drive off the bus and in the office till ops investigated it OPS-Office of Professional standards.. they handle employee dicipline..

  • Yeah, I totally agree with you, the driver needed to be talked to about this. But I am meaning, who knew how fast that train could've been traveling, how many lives were on those tracks, and if any could've been prevented. That's why I was saying I would've pushed the car backwards or just threw it in Drive and went on about my way, while calling the boss.

  • We've had a bus get hung on the tracks before. She went across only to find a tree laying across the road in a completel flooding downpour. So she backed up, slid off the tracks and got hung by the door. She said she floored it in Drive and in Reverse, and the bus did nothing. So she made everyone get off, immediately. Then she called her boss and he called CSX, and they shut down every train in the state until the bus was moved.

  • But my old driver said she doesn't care what would be infront of her, she would push it out of her way if a train was coming and something stopped infront of us, I don't blame her

  • i bet that driver was saying his Hail Mary's!

  • Here in Orange County, Florida the school bus drivers manual says that if you start across the tracks and the gate starts to comes down, don't stop or back up just keep going because the gate is designed to break.

  • Why holding up all the traffic wasting fuel and making pollution?

Did the engines stop because the gate was on the bus and not fully down?

But black car was stopped, so traffic could not continue in lane #1.

Crossing signals should operate 6 seconds before gates begin to lower.

That allows time for semis and busses, which are long and have high roofs, to clear.

Why did the brakeman get out? Gate was down. Just wasting more of everyone's time.

  • train: where gonna hit you...*bell tinks* where gonna hit you

    bus: *scream like girl*

train: *stops* haha, got ya BITCH!

  • Gates begin lowering too early after signal activation!

Should be 6 seconds before gates begin to descend to allow semis and buses to clear.

    Good catch!

    Why did locomotives stop?

Bus backed and gate lowered = no problem.

Even had bus not backed, there was still sufficient room and it was not in foul of the train.

    Spelled BUS.

  • Theres plenty of idiots who work in the FWISD and the bus driver is one of them. FWISD is run by bunch of Lame White Maggots. I don't care is you hold a masters or doctorate is you think like an idiot and you have one you work in the FWISD

  • @whtisrcowards I really don't see what color has to do with this issue. Trust me, idiocy has no prejudice. Every race/ethnicity has it's share of maroons.

  • Misleading title but still interesting...

  • bet all those people are happy that it wasnt a long ass trian

  • Hey I used to drive a school bus. We must stop at all rr crossings, Sometimes the crossings are blind, the train could be around a corner and we wont see it. Being in a tall bus those arms come down pretty fast and we have no way of out running the arm. There could be many reasons the bus go stuck, Was the intersection blind>? was the train blowing the horn? Like I said we stop at the crossing sometimes those guards come down before you even see a train. Give people a break stuff happens.

  • the intersection was not blind, clear view of the tracks both ways atleast a mile to each side, yes the train was blowing the horn. ALL UNION PACIFIC CROSSING'S LIGHTS FLASH ATLEAST 4 TIMES BEFORE THE GATES START COMING DOWN. that bus driver was fired, it wasnt the first time it happened with him before.

  • the train stopped so the dude that jumped off to make sure it was clear, could get back on the train.

  • Unless the crew on the train stopped so they could get the bus number, license plate, school district information, ect... Get the paperwork started to find the bus driver a new job.

  • no the conductor got off to make sure it was clear and no damage done to the gates.

  • if that train was hauling stuff then to be honest i dont think it would have stopped...

  • probably wouldn't have been able to even if it wanted to if it was pulling cars. THAT would have sucked!

  • lol?

  • why did the bus stop on the tracks and ahy did the train stop if he got off the tracks before the train came

  • i was told tht when a train hits the em stop the train has to fully stop before it can go again

  • @dfwresources Actually the driver should be able to release the brakes except if he isn't the one who decided to brake (like somebody else pulled the emergency brake). There is a delay in releasing the brakes (like like there is one when applying), but it shouldn't really matter to such a short train.

I think the real reason for stopping is to pick up the guy again. It's a lot harder to jump on a moving train than off it. There is also a safety issue involved.

  • @dfwresources Oh wow, that bus was really lucky then.

  • @dfwresources

It is to let the slack action stop, because otherwise you would have a whipsaw of cars slowing then getting whipped up to 10+ MPH from near 0, potentially causing a coupler break, or in extreme cases the coupler holds, the CAR breaks or a derailment can occur.

Just because the engine has stopped doesn't mean all the cars going to the back have stopped.

  • ok but why did he stop on the tracks instead of keep going

  • Fweeef!!

  • Only because it had no cars its a bit easier to stop and yes im surprise the engineer didnt got out of the cab to chase that idiot that went tried to cross XD that would be so hilarious!

  • Thank god for the engineer's quick thinking and stopping.

  • I Just Saw This On FOX 26 OMG

  • I saw this on the Dallas news tonight, the bus driver was fired..Thank God !!

  • Retard bus driver!
