  • just how long must I be disgraced cause I love you babe? LOVE THIS SONG!

  • SO TRUE , I DON'T KNOW WHY I LOVE HER , BUT I DO ? GETTING CARDS , IS JUST GREAT MAYBE THERE IS STILL LOVE ??? I HAVE TO ASK JOHN & MUM.

  • ...Haven't heard this one in forever! Thx for posting!

  • Make sure to hear Stevie Wonder's 'I Don't Know Why" as well!!

  • This "Metamorphosis" album, that I bought as a 'cutout' at Railroad Salvage in the very early 1980s, for "TWO-WHOLE-DOLLARS, "PROVES," once, and, for all, that even the outtakes and rejected songs of the Rolling Stones, even by their own choice, are much better than those by other groups that were hits! Did the Rolling Stones ever have a bad album? or...song? I doubt it! :)

  • @classiclistener01 by all and any means

  • Ahh NOW i SEE..MEGAMANDRAKE..a Freemason that REALY tells me what you are about and it surelY is NOT GOOD~!!

  • It REALLY does not matter, i detest jackson LOVE THE STONES!!! Too EACH THEIR OWN!

  • @gypsy505nm I love the stones too, I mean who doesn't. As far as Mj's child scandal thing, I don't know what happened. I wasn't there. I do know that a lot of people wanted to destroy him and probably could have if there was enough evidence, but that is not my point. I'm not an Mj fan I don't like all of his songs...but he owns this one. that's all I have to say about it for now. you should all check out his version...and try to sing along with it...see what's real for yourself.

  • Michael Jackson does own this song, his vocals are spot-on. That baby knew music.

  • @5phuffyb at least somebody agrees with me based on total facts!

  • I stand by my full comment...micheal jackson owns this song...at 10...makes mick look like the 'tard he is...keith roks as usual...

  • @goonchistaw can you sing at all? I'm going to assume you can, try to sing the mj version vs. this pile of dung...you will find, empirically, mj(btw,my best friend is named Michael and I still get it wrong sometimes, so deal with that too hahaha.)actually sings with soul and a sweet bag of vocal riffs. Micckk sounds as if he just dosed himself on some 95%pure china white...deal with it...but of course keeth rokks...the missspellliingg is just fer yoo...cheers d-bag!!!hahahaha

  • @MegaMandrake99 shhh you prick , you read like a top dickhead , why you even listening to this ? .... 95% pure china white doesn't exist it's either pure or 95% , like your stool comment ....

  • @gypsy505nm uummmm...maybe learn to read?

  • Was this really recorded the night Brian Jones died?

  • This is my first time listening to the Stones version of "I Don't know Why"

It does sound more mournful and heartbreaking than the original version.

I wonder if they were going to record it for an album or upcoming single?

  • RIP Brian, we love you

  • I had the impression that Jimmy Page played slide guitar on this.

    Any comments?

    I love the SONG!

Sure sounds like Page to me though!

Stu or Nicky or whoever; piano is KILLER!

  • @swiggy58a pretty sure its Mick Taylor, who could play a mean slide!

  • @swiggy58a SomeOne knows their Music..Stu 'n Nikki Hopkins..GreaT~!!

  • I don't know why... but I just love this song!

  • No problem, i should explained more, this what i have read.

Lead Vocal: Mick Jagger Guitars: Mick Taylor (lead) & Keith Richards Bass: Bill Wyman Drums: Charlie Watts Piano: Ian Stewart

The Rolling Stones recorded a version on June 30, 1969, released on the Metamorphosis album in 1975. They were mixing the song when they learned that Brian Jones had died. (July 3, 1969)

  • Boys were mixing the song when they learned that Brian Jones had died. (July 3, 1969)

  • if u listen carefully, you can hear brian in the background, " glub glub, turn up the bass, glubb splutter etc."

  • The LP featuring this Track "METAMORPHOSIS" is SUPERB with a lot more of the Stones classics as well, enjoy!!,Murray.

  • @dougallsdiscs Good too read "positive" words when it comes too Music..someone who has posted some real filth on here ridiculous..Thanks for bein REAL~!

  • Amazing how these legendary songs aren't known to everyone. You have to look really deep to find music such as this!

Brian was drowning at the same time

  • This song is so good...one of my Stone's favourites...Stevie Wonder's version is amazing, but I like this one better, so dramatical and sharp....

  • Some of Mick Taylor's genius unfortunately buried in a bad mix.

  • @hassledguy totally agree.

  • Recorded the night Brian Jones died, a sad song for a sad moment...........

  • @wincanton2 Re: Jones. I heard that is why the track is so short.

  • @tonyfrombalt Stevie Wonder... Great song... just got turned onto it myself.... Jackson 5 also covered this Stevie song.

  • @wincanton2 Then he did not perform in this song? Isn't this album a compilation? How could he performed on this song since he'd been released from the band? Not challenging you, just interested. Thanks.

  • @wincanton2 ..and such a dramatic, spooky song as well. Perhaps some things aren't coincidences?

  • i found this the other week..and what a find..just wonderful ..

  • Always one of my favorite hidden gems. The Stones "blues'd it up" more than the original Stevie Wonder or Jackson 5 version. I like all 3 versions. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks for the upload, one of my favourites!!!
