If you look closely, when the car is approaching the bridge and the camera is mounted on the rear bumper looking forward, the brakes are applied prior to the bridge, locking up the tires. One can see skid marks on the pavement.
That said, one of the best all time movies.
By the way, the four people that hit the dislike button are Illinois Nazis.
I was goin to work the day it was filmed and the bridge was just barely up when they jumped it can you say film cut and splice?The mall scene was the shit they did tare it up,
LOL. Look, no kidding, I enjoyed this. But seriously. The Blues Brothers is still solidly in my top five all time favorite movies, but is it fair to pick out the bridge jump? It's not like anything ELSE in the movie was exactly solidly steeped in physical reality. =) How about the reverse flip over the Nazis where the car manages not only a perfect 540 vertical but apparently also a 180 horizontal?
Now why don't you make a video where you explain us that Shlok doesn't really exist, but there's an actor inside the gorilla suite? LOL
