No Problem. I hope your wish comes true. I plan to do some traveling this summer and possibly to see some new lighthouses. Happy Holidays to you JustASeed!
First...thanks for letting me revisit some of the lights I saw in Michigan and I believe these were on the Lake Michigan side. I've also seen most on the Lake Huron side in which I've made some nice Powerpoint shows of. 2nd...since we vacationed in Maine I question they have over 60 lighthouses as I remember seeing 7 or 8.
Thanks ziggyzoomba49. I'm glad to share these wonderful sights. I hope to get to see the lighthouses in Maine someday. I replaced the audio to this video because it had a few bad facts. I did find MI to have the most lighthouses at 90. Maine has 80. I found a great resource about lighthouses which I placed in the description to the right of the video. I think you will enjoy them too. Thanks again and have a happy holiday season!
Pookieftw..In the event you ever get to Maine..and believe me..it's worth the trip, 2 of my favorite lighthouses were Pemaquid Point and Cape Elizabeth..both with very picturesque settings. Another great area in Maine is the Bar Harbor (pronounced Bah Habah by the locals). Gave me my 1st chance to go whale watching (since we rarely see them in Lake Eire..lol). Something I've also started is collecting lighthouse figurines of ones we've visited by buying them on Ebay.
I will definately keep those locations in mind. I have yet to plan my vacation for next year and honestly I think Maine would be a great destination. I haven't been there before and I love the accent too!
on the coast of maine, they have Boone Island Light. it was probably the most INHOSPITIBLE lighthouse assingment. i would sail out ther to see it just for that fact.
I swore I wasn't gonna be one of those who harped to all his friends to quit. I think I only bring it with them because I am still astonished that I haven't started it back up.
Really nice picture taking Steve. You've got a great narration voice too. A relaxed and soothing experience for me since you did all the walking and climbing. :) We are all one, Robin
Enjoyed this video. That lighthouse looked tall - I wonder how much easier you would find it climbing all those stairs after quiting smoking for six weeks?
I am hoping to find out next year when maybe spring comes. I'll let you know. I want to take a trip to upper Michigan. Even farther up than this trip took us. There are some more lighthouses there.
Good memory, actually it was the lighthouses in this video that prompted me to quit smoking. The big lighthouse shown here is at Presque Isle and it is only about an hour from Alpena.
I actually live in Michigan and have for 3 years when my wife got the bug to move back to the twon of her birth but I have yet to see much at all of the state. We travel frequently but mostly out of state, where would you recommend a trip to since I've heard you sing the praises of the state in the past.
Because many of my relatives live in upper Michigan I am most familiar with Alpena, Gaylord, Traverse City, those areas. Out of them I really like Alpena, mostly because it is so laid back. Within 30 minutes of Alpena you can get to the lighthouses and multiple harbours. There are tons of Cherry Tree fields in that area and some very nice homes. Lower Michigan from Saginaw on down is a lot like Indiana where I live so it doesn't excite me as much.
Beautiful photos. Chris

Correction there is something worse than a reformed smoker: a Yorkshirman with a sense of humour!
