  • Love your reviews, thanks for putting in all the hard work!

  • Good video, but the bluebox background is uhhh...

  • Nice review. I dont have many Euro Games yet so I might pick this one up!

  • Okay, I have to ask, do you two draw lots to see who has to clean up after the game gets poured onto the floor?

  • Hey Tom. That guy makes you look svelte. Good call.

  • @Tom - did you mean 1 and 3/4?

Thanks for the review! Now I want this game even more!

BTW, other games have "expansions" included, they just don't call them that. Think about Agricola - the occupations and minor improvements can be considered "expansions".

  • @ccmonter they do add extra mechanics that can be added/removed to regulate complexity. When introducing the game to non gamers don't add them in and you will get them hooked. For more experienced players the expansions makes it a great game.

  • You HAVE to use all the expansions (or at least Purple and Brown paint) or else the game is broken. You can purposely choose to always wake up late and do nothing but paint portraits to get money. If you do that every time and then convert all your money into VP at the end of the game you can beat 90% of players... Anyway, still a fun game if you include the "expansions," which are really just added rules.

  • @StexeGod some of he expansions only make sense if you have the 4 players for a lesser number is better to remove 1; I normally remove the portraits as you say it makes the game a tad silly.

  • @Lordmordisquitox I don't agree. We played it with 3 and all the expansions felt fine. The portrait I was talking about is the default spot (just money), which if you don't play with Purple and Brown it becomes the optimal choice 90% of the time.

  • @StexeGod for me this was one of my best purchases at Essen 2010; it is getting plenty game time including those players not fond of worker placement games.

Out of curiosity have you tried the expansions 4,5,6 available from Queen Games? Not sure to pick them up or not as reviews say the box is a tad overpriced.

  • Tom Vasel the rebel reviewer! 1 and a quarter!
