  • nicely done

  • nice work ! i've got a question..? is the original stiping on the helmet doesnt goes like emboss when you coat it...?

  • @raider3823 hi!! yes it does, but here's something that airbrush and custom paint videos and manuals never tell us: it fades out when you sand it with 2500 grit and then 3000 grit, then 3M hand polishing compound. you'll achieve great results!

    see ya!!

  • is it the paste that come in the tube like toothpaste, cause i think they make a lot of different colors red, black, gray etc. nice work though

  • @hawkdlb06 well, it's called grey paste, the red one from Dupont is Fine Putty. Putty is great for fixing fine holes and sratches, it dries really quick and you can sand it and paint directly on it. Ask for DuPont Fine Putty.

    see ya!

  • great job and great song

  • so its ok to paint over the decals ? arenst they stickers ? they are not going to show thru ? you sand with 600 wet sand to prep along with "grey paste'? is that like bondo or something ?

  • well, actually that was a factory paintjob, aparently made with pre-determined stencils for that model. It's not good to paint over stickers, 'cause they would not only show, but come off and believe me it'd be nasty. 600 grit is just to have a propper surface for the paint to stick to. And that paste, after drying and sanding is like primer, so...I did'nt worry about that.

  • hell yeah! BLS!!!!! sweet tune

  • Very good jop. Excellent work. What type of medium do use to cover up the smal holes, crack, scratches etc. on the helmet?

  • it's grey paste, like the one they apply on cars, but cheaper.

  • class....ive just started airbrushing as a hobby., cant wait to be this good. as u can see from my video i need more practice, but as they say ''practice makes perfect''

  • Thanks for your answer.. i haev a badger double action.. Do u know if there is a gloss or varnish to end the job that works with water based paints ? You Rock !!

  • If you use water base paints, you can buy any spray-can clearcoat at the Home Depot. But I gotta tell you....waterbased paints on helmets are very cheap but they can result in a waste of time and effort...also, they tend to loose color over the time with UV beams.

  • Hi, excelente work.

Im Lucas, From argentina. Im trying to star with my airbrush but i dont know wich paints use...

WIll u gimmmmme some advice ???

I will paint mostly helmets..i´m a fan of vintage bikes and i like to tune up my own helmets like the old ones...

    Bye !!

  • Well DuPont,...House of Kolor, Auto-Air, and paints from Kustom Shop...work perfectly........ You can use base colors or enamels with your airbrush...depending on what type of work you want to do, and what airbrush you have... I learned by test and error... with the experience, you'll get used to the paints, and eventually, creating your own mixtures, style and colors.

    Thanks for your comment !!

  • well, I wanted to start airbrushing when I saw mike lavallee painting Jack Osbourne's truck with skelletons etc..

To be honest with you, I thought : "hey!! I think I could do that...doesn't look so difficult!! lol!! but I t it is actually. I've been airbrushing for about a year now...I learned by myself and of course, thanks to videos from fantastic Aibrush artists.... (continues cause of character rules)...

  • hey mate.

  • don't worry, your english is not bad.

well, actually, that fire job involves like 6 or 7 layers of different colours, but the video would be too long.

  • your english is bad??

its better than mine and im English lol

  • what is the clearcoat you use

  • well, it depends on the importance or quality required for the job, but usualy, it's DuPont Automotive Clearcoat.

    Thanks.

  • what are you using to sand the clear coat off the helmet?

  • I use 600 wet sand paper ussualy...

  • Look nice man ;) keep up the good work! Does it take long to learn how to use a airbrush properly?

  • thanks a lot!

Well it doesn't take so long if you fractice...it's like learning to use a computer without a teacher...you just play, mess arround...and you'll be painting very soon...
