This is complete brainwashing, whoever knows something about batteries can tell that if these guys really know what they are talking about, they are lying and being very well paid for it.
HAHA mister battery technician was wrong. Battery life is not about how much energy you store in a computer, but the amount of charge you move through it. hehe... our computers don't run off of singular capacitors XD
and as for what's cool at the cafe, who cares? if they laugh, then think about the extra money they spent for no reason other than a unibody and an apple with a bite mark :P
it won't light up the asus logo, but that saves battery :P
@Hassasin195 Old comment I know, but nobody said anything lol. The Apple logo is lit by the same lighting the display uses for it's backlight. It isn't separate, so it's not wasting any more power than if it wasn't there, they just made a cut out for the light to shine through.
I don't want to get into a mac vs pc war, but I guess I did :P
As far as I care, Macs are machines that are well built, look very nice, and and operating system that is simple, sleek and functional. Even if you have to pay quite the price premium to get a hold of one.
If you spent the same money on a pc, you would get practically the same thing, just better hardware inside, just not the looks. In the end, it's all about what you want.
I can actually stand behind an asus now, as I have actually bought one. The G53J. I cannot stress enough the attention to detail and the quality of the components inside. I have used my cousin's macbook many times, and it is a fantastic machine, but the asus does not fall short in any category (relatively) when compared to the apple macbook. I mean my laptop's internals are better (core i7, gtx460m), but I trade off for battery life. Asus in my opinion, is on par with mac.
@Hassasin195 Gaming laptops are usually so obtuse in every way besides chip set spec. How's your keyboard, trackpad, OS treating you? To name but a few.
Keyboard is pretty much as good as I can expect from a laptop (apparently it has won design awards), trackpad is the first I have actually liked. It's a direct touch (not covered in plastic or some crappy texture) and very responsive. it has scrolling like an ipod, which is nice (swirl around in a circle to scroll). Windows 7 on the SSD I installed is fast as hell, and have no lag in anything I do. It runs quiet and cool, the cooling system is a gem. <3 it
@Hassasin195 Just to continue XD, It has 2 drive bays, so I have the stock 750 for storage, and the SSD for boot/apps. The only thing I don't like about it is the battery life, but I knew it wouldn't be good with a core i7 and a gtx460m. the rubberized finish is awesome as well. 1080p 15in screen is glorious, pixel density is crazy good, better than I have seen on any laptop. The keyboard also has a number pad, which is really useful. And it's not multilingual, so it's perfect.
I've got a 13 inch macbook pro. I just unplugged it from the charger and after it calculated how much time I had left it said 5:01 hours. Thats while streaming on videos. If I close it and let it sleep it lasts about 15 hours.
When the battery goes, you just open up the computer and replace it. The only thing they did was remove the parts that allow the battery to be removed without opening the computer. So now changing a battery takes 20 minutes instead of 1 minute. As someone who has owned both the old and new macbook pros, I can say that it is a small price to pay. These batteries are amazing!
The battery makes it greener? What happens to the computer when the battery goes? Is this going to be like the dust-busters that when the battery is kaput, the machine gets tossed? If so, how is that environmentally friendly?
@anoniab lol, apple does replace the battery under warranty -- or for a fee. Just like buying a new battery I suppose. If they say it lasts longer than normal batteries, then its probably like comparing it to buying 3 new batteries.
i just got a macbook pro 13" && my battery only stays for 4 hours when surfing on the web && watching movies. the battery will stay up to 7 hours when its on sleep or stand by.
I freaking love my Mac ! ;D

@Hassasin195 Asus are the non-mac computers that come closest to the quality of apple's products, but of course they do not reach it.

hey bro, please take note on 0:20 of this video..
watching movies alone requires too much power to render graphics and sound.
