  • Very helpful

  • Thank you so much for this Maha. I am taking Arabic now and this is very helpful in repeating them to myself!

  • Thank you very much, I just love languages. Especially one that has writing that's so beautiful.

  • you are lovely, thank you : )

  • Thank you for posting all your videos, they are really helpful. When we don't practice everyday it's great to have something to refresh a bit our knowledge^^.

  • It's hard not to confuse ح ,خ ,غ ,ه...

  • ج is actually strong like the name George, exactly like the English G...you should clarify that in your dialect it is preferred to be not as strong, but in classic Arabic and not slang...it is G.

  • Jazak Allah

    Subhanallah....

  • Hi, i find your videos really helpful :o) you are really good in explaining Arabic that way it can be easier for me to learn. your are cool ^_-

  • I find this video more helpful than most others... don't really know why. :)

  • my moms name is maha too, wierd

i just happened upon this looking for how to say 9

  • I don´t get it why anyone would post their political views or prejudices on video about language learning. There a websites for people like that, so they could give the rest of us the courtesy of keeping their provocative thoughts out of languagevideos.

I suppose it´s just lot easyer to go make stupid statemants here then actually confronting other fools.

  • if you see other western girls how beautifull they are looking when they covers thier heads and speaking in so morality and in islamic way . i know you will reject this comment and never let it post , but remember fear allah and fear the fire which will be waiting for thos to be burnt

  • @khanzakhail She's a Christian Palestinian, not a Muslim. =_=

  • thank you so much Im taking beginning arabic in college and this is helping a lot. I still need help with words though because my teacher is giving us odd words that arent for nomral taking.

  • i know that song :)

  • I have been studing turkish aswell and considering how different it is from arabic it´s difficult for me to undrrstand how they used the arabic alphabeth back when they did, i suppose there must of been quite some difference in the writing even when they used arabic script.

  • thank you for posting this! I have been looking for this kind of video to help me learn!

  • hahaha i like when ur trying to explain how to pronounce "ح" it reminds me when i tryed to learn it to my french gf ^^ so funny

  • That was awesome, thanks.

Is there much good Arabic literature to read? Have decided to learn Arabic so I can go there as a journalist and get their side of the story, not the crap propaganda that seems to be everywhere.

  • Thanks from an American in Paris. I wanted to learn how to pronounce the Arabic alphabet and found your video. It's very helpful!

  • What's the difference between َ and ح

  • @TheScars75 The latter is transliterated as HHa, it is a deeper sound that comes from the throat like you are forcing an exhale, the former isn't as stronger as Maha made it sound, it is just like our "h" when we say "ha".

  • Hi, Maha,

I just started Lucha's course. I am using it to prepare for the Arabic course that I'll be taking next semester. Your other videos have already been so helpful in preparing my mind for this totally new language for me. I was wondering what book that is you're using to teach the alphabet. I definitely need something to help me practice writing.

    Thanks

  • Thank you Maha. Your a really good teacher.

  • Maha you say that your pronunciation is not a dialect but it is, original arabic does not have the letter t its actually th i can't write it properly in the latin alphabet because it does not have the proper letters and also the jim is pronouces j not j like the french you are probably doing the Egyptian pronunciation trust me i learn the maharij of arabic letters in a madhrassa.

I hope you could still upload a lot of videos! and one thing, sorry to say 'coz you might get angry to me but your beautiful face and voice also motivates me a lot on focusing your lesson! thanks!

  • thank you for these... I'm from Sweden and I learned Arabic script (actually farsi first, but it's almost the same) when I was 6 years old and lived far out in the sticks. Cus in the school I went to in the nearest village, there was a girl from Iran who I had a big crush on, so I learned to write in farsi script and wrote our names inside hearts on papers and hid them under my bed.

Hoping God would notice and lead us together.

So I know the script, trying to learn the actual language from you.

  • Hi! I have a comment about the letter "ج". It isn't as soft as you pronounced it. It is rather pronounced as "g" of George. Also, the letter "ج" is one of حروف القلقلة. Thank you :)

  • very well done, I learned a lot! Thank you so much!

  • where are you from

  • my name is George :D not Jorge :D

    parlo anche italiano :)

  • She speaks in Arabic, Mandarin, and not a Lebanese accent or other, but it does facilitate some of the letters because it is difficult for non-Arabs learned from the first time.

  • ليش ما تقول الحروف بالهمزه !

اعتقد انها تشرح بطريقة غريبة مجهود تشكر عليه

  • chokran Maha!! This is helping very much for my Arabic pronounciation! =D

  • MAHA THANKS A LOT FOR THE TOUGH LETTERS I HAVE PROBLEM WITH THEM AND YOU VE EXPLAINED SO WELL!

  • wow,.. you also speak very good english.. but I guess that you live in italy..i'm confused.. very nice.

  • @symba and she speaks italian very well

  • أشكرك على الفيديو المفيد. هل لديك علم ببعض فيديوهات تعليم اللغة العربية لليابانيين؟

  • من فضلك اهتمي بمخارج الحروف و لا تنسى الهمزه و إن كانت صعبه و مجهودك طيب "متخصص " تحياتي

  • HEY GREAT LESSON! I JUST WANTED TO TELL YOU SOMETHING THAT I SAW IN THIS LESSON AND IT IS THAT THE FIRST LETTER THAT YOU THOUGHT IN THIS LESSON THAT I GUESS IT IS WRITTEN LIKE ALIPH IT REMINDS ME OF THE FIRST LETTER FROM THE HEBREIC ALPHABET AND SO IT IS ALEPH BUT THIS DOESN'T MEAN THAT I AM A ISRAELI GUY BUT I AM AN AMERICAN THAT ENJOYS LEARNING DIFFERENT LANGUAGES THROUGH YOUTUBE AND OTHER MEANS AND BY THIS I AM SAYING THAT I AM JUST LEARNING THE HEBREW LANGUAGE AS WELL !

  • No she's not lebanese, but Egyptien

i know it cause im arabic too :D

  • Thanks for the tutor...im learning... and i love the chicken ya... hehehe.. funny!!

  • Thank you for your video, you're explanation and examples helped me a great deal. Peace

  • hey beautiful, i love how u explain all ur lessons, u are a great teacher

  • tnx dear:)

  • Love your videos Maha. They've really helped me learn how to speak and write. However, since I don't know any arabic words I find it a little difficult to practice. If you could post a video or send me some words that would be great.

    Ma Salaama

  • You're a very good teacher. I particularly like the way you pronounce ع and غ

  • Nice try ! lol lebanese accent indeed

  • I'm a beginner with no exposure to Arabic at all. After watching this video just twice, I have already memorized half the alphabet. Excellent job Maha! :0)

  • Wish me good luck learning Hebrew. :) It's really ambigious with the many different ways of pronouncing everything. o_o But at the same time that's fun and I guess Arabic is the same with the different Accents..

  • مرحبا مها

    بصراحه عيونك بجننوا

    وشخصيتك مرحه كثير

    للأمام دائما وبتمنى لك التوفيق

  • She is a very intelligent and a funny trainer.............Kudos to you......!!

  • just wondering Maha were are you from

  • thank you for teaching see you netx time!

  • You mean it comes from the epiglottis.

  • مرحبا مها، اشكرك كثيرا على دروسك خاصة أنها باللغة العربية الفصحى. تحياتي لك وإلى الأمام

  • You are a really really excellent teacher!!!

I speak Hebrew and I really want to learn Arabic so this is very helpful!

Yes, in Hebrew we do have a lot of ch, but we also have a lot of 'ha'(the sound that comes from your throat, not the regular 'h' sound) it just depends on who you listen to talking.

    Anyway, THANK YOUU:)

    you're beautiful by the way!!

  • thank you! you great teacher!

  • اسلوبك سهل وفعال جدا، اهنئك عليه وكل التوفيق لكِ

  • سلام عليكم

أنا من لندن ؤ أصل من بنغلاديش اُحبك لغة ألعربية

    ؤ أنتِ جميلة جداً

  • Hi, i watched a few videos of you... At first, i didn't want to learn arabic, but for now, i'm seriously thinking about it ^^ , you're a great teacher, you get a lovely smile, :) , i feel you look very great! I wanted to know if you got french origines? or marocan origines? Cause you laughed when you said "zizou" ^^

Go on your lessons, they are great!

  • I would like to know the link between morocco and "zizou"?!

    lol

  • sei bravissima !!! continua cosi ! grazie per il tuo impegno.marco

  • I'm guessing from you pronunciation of 'jiim' at 1:30 that you're of Lebanese origin. Could you confirm that please? I'm afraid anyone who learns from your videos will end up catching your accent, so we need to know which one it is. Thanks and please do respond.

  • @BelligerentPacifist Thanks for your comment.

no i am not Lebanese, and i am teaching the STANDARD ARABIC so you won't end up catching any dialect from me. This is actually why i am teaching standard and not my dialect.

  • @LearnArabicwithMaha: That's comforting to know and thanks for the reply. Don't think I'm against any regional dialect, its simply that I'd like to learn proper language first.

Still, your pronunciation of the jiim/jeem is different from what I've learnt and spoken. I'm from around the Persian Gulf and I've heard Gulf Arabs pronounce it as the g in giovanni not the j in jean-paul. Could you enlighten me more on that? Thanks.

  • @BelligerentPacifist

you are right, the Jeem sound can be different depending on the dialect

but it's not a big deal

the most important that you are saying it as J but you don't say it as the Egyptian J because they pronounce it as G in Gold

  • @LearnArabicwithMaha you actually didn't understand what bellig.. told u, a dialect is different from an accent. We know you're teaching STANDARD arabic but your accent (The way you sound) is very similar to the lebanese one. I agree with him cuz my lebanese friend once heard you and she said "she's lebanese cuz of her accent", but i know you're from palestine, i also know that the dialect spoken in lebanon is the same one in palestine and syria, so maybe that's why your accents are so similar.

  • @LearnArabicwithMaha is it not jaa as in john? not jaa as in jean claude?

  • @LearnArabicwithMaha

So, Maha, where are you from?

  • @BelligerentPacifist

She spoke in standard, but I think she's Palestinian, not Lebanese.

  • @BelligerentPacifist she is from palestine

  • Hey Maha, your vids are wonderful tool. I am a beginner student what specific books, audio would you recommend?

  • Thank You!!!

  • Nice Idea, and a nice girl ;) witch is the first film to start with, so that I can learn it in Chapters and witch accent is this? middle east, Egyptian or Moroccan?

  • Very interesting:)Thanks

  • It's so great to be a native Dutch speaker with this, we use almost all of these letters, except for the 'french' r, and the tough versions of each letter. But they are not really difficult to master =D

  • Hey Maha! Really good video... Thankyou!

    I'm from Holland.

The last time i've did something with Arabic was years ago in the mosque..

I used to read Arabic (Quran) but I never understood what I was reading.. Your other video's help out..especially the counting.

Btw..you're gonna be famous if your popularity keeps rising like this.

Maybe you can host a talkshow or something in the future.. I see something in you..in the way you speak/the ability to learn people things.

    Blessings!

  • hi, I think the "a" in the tough "sa" sounds a bit like in the english words "saw' or "law" (if it can help some people)

  • thank you so much for these!

  • Hi Maha,

Thanks from Spain, I begin to watch ur videos and they help me with arabic, it's so hard to pronunce for me. I hope in some time I could speak a little.

  • Hey Maha. Thank you. I think the word you were looking for is 'gutteral' = harsh sounds produced in the throat. Thanks again. :)

  • I really want to learn Arabic, but it's just too hard for me :( maybe one day...

  • Thank you Maha for everything.

07:23 "Ayn" sound is the most difficult to get for me. By the way, it is not only present in arabic language but also in other ones like hebrew, berber, aramaic, etc isn't it?
