Yup. The sound is straight off the built in amp of the record player into the speakers shown in the slide at the beginning of the vid. The "steroids" is the sub woofer amp on the 10 inch.
Apple Records started after the Beatles broke up? I do remember my dad's copies of Beatles albums printed in 1971/1972 and half of them were on Apple but had the Capitol creds at the bottom of the label. Could be right about that one. 1LoFi 45, any confirmation for us uppity fact checkers on Beatles/Macca stuff?
I could be a little off on the actual dates, and yes, the Beatles did record on Apple, but I do believe it was Paul McCartney's original concept. Early Beatles was Capital (orange and yellow swirl).
Apple Records es / fue un proyecto del grupo Beatles. Alguien tuvo que tener la idea original, pero el proyecto era de los cuatro. Y Apple no fue fundada por McCartney al terminarse los Beatles.
Record players, especially a little portable like that always had slightly off pitch, either too fast or too slow. The A-side to this is Band On The Run, at least the US copy is.
Odd thing is,the very beginning of the track is right on key! When all the instruments come in is when the pitch increases just a bit. I just now noticed that.
Hell, this is back when I had just purchased a new stereo system...my first with a CD player...back in '87. But I have to wonder how the hell a pirate 45 wound up in a jukebox!
Beatlemania1962's upload is at the right pitch. You can find other tunes to check your turntable's speed against. But if it's off that's just some of the fun of analog.
Here in the UK, the flip side to Band On The Run was 'Zoo Gang' - Theme from the TV Series of the same name. Nineteen Hundred..... is my favourite McCartney track.
i have the firts edition very new

To me it sounds like this song is predicting the disco tunes that would come a few years later.

so did you hook up that old contraption to those speakers???
Try playing the 45 rpm of "JET" on there. because my copy is a little too played out and the original fielity i allways thought was too compressed

Hey Tex I've seen your record collection videos. Any chance of hearing some more of them on the tube?
1LoFi45 3 years ago
As soon as I can get some more vinyl,of course! But what I have posted is,for the moment, the entire vinyl collection.

Cool!

You sure it's just the player that's fast? Because my copy of the 45 also played at this speed.
texs2007 3 years ago
Yup. Just checked it on another recording from my other turntable.
1LoFi45 3 years ago
Then maybe my copy, and one that wound up in a jukebox, were pirated?

I usually find my player is at fault. What are you using?

That is,if I still had both the stereo, which finally gave out in 2000...or even the 45. I now have the CD. And,that is so true about fun with analog!

What is that black disc that spins 'round and 'round called? And what is that apparatus that it is spinning around on called???
