suffice to say, the filmmakers could have at least shown us what the mercury code looked like within the word search; perhaps by bolding the patterned letters, or using different colors to distinguish signal from noise--plenty of ways they could have done it. Beyond that, the expository scenes gave viewers very little information about Mercury's content, less the threat it posed to national security.

Mercury Rising was superb Action/Thriller. Bruce Willis, little Miko Hughes, Alec Baldwin as villain and Kim Dickens were stunning. This great film is one more proof that best films were in the 90s and 80s.

Why would they send it out as a test, and then kill the person who cracked it. The whole point of the code is that it was impossible to crack. The boy proved that it wasn't, killing him doesn't change that. The movie is fun, but the plot makes no sense at all.
