  • America is for Americans

  • Support the American worker union and non union. decent wages healthcare, thank you my union brother and sister for setting a pace for all of us to live a better life, and not just be slaves to some of the greedy rich. Who dont want to pay a fairer tax to keep our country decent. And to the companies that leave for slave wages and say or else shame on you. Buy American people when you can,go on line to -Made in USA- and support companies keeping and bringing jobs back. Support fair trade.

  • This is incredibly simplistic.

All people would suffer if this type of decision triggered similar decisions from other countries. We should want our governments to purchase highest quality/cost.

  • It (the "buy american") idea is a good one, but far too many U.S. multinational corporations don't give a DAMN about anything accept making bigger profits, and fattening the wallets of the CEOs.

  • Dont support slave labor, or liers Look at where the product comes from, Whats that countrys beliefs for the most part on trade, wages, environment; religion ect Then make a decision. Its not that hard to find out on line. Punch in slave labor countries ect. Most but not all companies want to save a buck at any means, and just turn a blind eye at how it's produced. At least in America we have better moral ways of making products. We all cant be paper pushers can we. Dont be fooled Change It

  • When I was in high school, I swore that I would only buy cars from American companies. I bought 2 American vehicles. Needless to say, there are no American cars at my house anymore. There is less fixy fixy needed now. I hope the "new" GM and Ford have got the message.

  • nah sorry bud we tried that after world war I, didn't work out too great for us left us in the Great Depression.

  • Thats called protectionism and is bad for an economy jackass

  • Buying american=more jobs for americans

its not rocket science. What happened when we outsource jobs and products are made elsewhere??? We lose jobs.

    epidemic117=14 years old.

  • @doooobies332 Well the world would be glad if america would isolate itself.

  • @2009zigi Does anyone have an idea of what happened when Japan tried to do that same thing in the 17th thru the mid-19th centuries? And you're suggesting that America try something like that?

  • "why should a U.S. Steel mill have to compete with a Indian or russian manufacturer?"

Because this is a fee market economy! If your business can't adapt. Then it will sink. If your business makes shitty products (GM) Then it deserves to sink instead of getting a bailout! Someone else will take your place. This is how the world works and it is a natural lifecycle. You need to be able to make products that appeal to the customer. Competition is good. IT's what helps keep the costs down.

  • @EpiDemic117 a lot of people still love GM. American car companies is a very sensitive subject to a lot of Americans. The big three are very close to our hearts. No one wants to see them go. I dont care if im buying a piece of crap car or not. Its going to have an american name on it not some japenese bull shit.

Fun fact: did you know that mitsubishi made the japenese zero airplanes that attacked pear harbor? I dont care how long ago it was. I will NEVER be associated with that history

  • @msbaugh440

"I dont care if im buying a piece of crap car or not."

You aren't even a patriot. You are more of a corporate tool. A company cannot thrive if it does not make good products. This is the principle rule in America. This is also why most companies have perished in the turn of the century bankrupt. Because NOT ALL OF THEM are as great, adaptive, or strategic with where the market as others.

  • @EpiDemic117 i dont think you understand what im getting at. Of course lots of things are assembled in lots of different places. Its virtually impossible to make everything in america made in america. I understand that completely. The point is supporting a company that stands for american ideals and is based in america. Much of these items assembled in other countries can still be classified as "american". Solely because the creativity and the ideas behind the product originated in america.

  • @msbaugh440 "i dont think you understand what im getting at" Oh i understand EXACTLY what you are getting at. Nationalism and protectionism.

"he point is supporting a company that stands for american ideals and is based in america. " Product wise that is fine. However GM is no longer that to me. They were government owned and sunk due in part primarily because of poor management.

  • @msbaugh440 And don't even tell me that you don't have a single object in your house that either a Japanese brand or is made in china. Your statements are very contradicting. And thus don't have anything real to back it up. Most of it is basic generalization.

  • @msbaugh440 yeah they may be assembled somewhere else. But buying a chevy or a Dodge still supports america in a very confusing way. These companies provide thousands of jobs here in america! Someone has to market, design, fix, and sell all these products here correct? These positions provide thousands of jobs... in AMERICA. So buying them actually does support our economy and actually does help create jobs even though much of the parts may come from somewhere else.

  • @msbaugh440 "But buying a chevy or a Dodge still supports america in a very confusing way" And so does buying a Honda or Toyota. Toyota now is actually the most American car these days with over 80% of the parts coming from U.S suppliers.

  • @EpiDemic117 Im no expert, i know. and i apologize for being so heated about the subject. I just believe in supporting companies that stand for american ideals and beliefs. (for example, having an american flag on a logo or even a company that donates regularly to american charity's (such as red cross, etc.)). These things overall support my country in small ways and thats why i say buy american.

  • @msbaugh440 "These things overall support my country in small ways and thats why i say buy american. " I'm a HUGE believer in america to. Especially capitalism, but the things that most people don't get when trying to encourage or force others to Buy domestic product is that this is actually not the American way. It reminds me more of what the soviets did with their closed command control economies. That along with their military spending is basically what caused them to fall.

  • @EpiDemic117 its nice to see american brand cars such as lincoln and cadillac making cars that can match up and outperform european companies like mercedes and bmw

  • @EpiDemic117 i totally agree with you on that one. But theres a difference in supporting american companies and communism. Im not saying to eliminate foreign competition. I understand that a free market is a free market. I just would like to see more of an american dominance

  • @msbaugh440 We have been dominating. for many years. Even in the Automotive category (with honda, toyota. and Nissans fleet of American workers in the mix) America probably makes more cars than anyother country out there. Which is good for our GDP. Hell we even export TONS of materials. Half the Stuff japan makes they need mostly ALL of the materials imported, as well as Food from the United States and China. they require alot of our food to especially.

  • @msbaugh440 There are only about 300 million Americans living in the United States. There are about 127 million people living in japan (about half our population) . And there are about a couple billion people living in China. Even with our small population of inhabitants we still manage to output Impressive GDP. In fact we mostly all the time end up with excess.

  • @msbaugh440 So you see the real problem in america that we are facing with our economy is not our industrial area. That area is doing completely fine. In fact we today produce more good than we EVER had in the past. Our industry is far from dieing. The REAL problem is the way things were being managed by some really bad execs from GM and other companies. In fact most of the blame can be pointed towards our centralized banks for doing away with completely ass backwards loan proposals.

  • what are you trying to state when buying American? Even airforce one has parts that come from all over the globe. For instance, on a modern boeing 787 dreamliner aircraft (still in development). the flaps and ailerons come from Australia. The wings are made in japan by mitsubishi heavy industries. My point is that you really need to learn how the global economy works. IT's far more complex than you think. They do this because it maximize efficiency.

  • @EpiDemic117 so why not support dodge or gm?? i dont understand what you're getting at. Our government just gave millions in bailout to these companies. That was OUR countries tax payer money correct? So supporting them would keep that money going to good use right?

And by the way these companies are finally starting to turn around. The "piece of junk car" is beginning to no longer apply to these companies because i believe that they are finally getting it right

  • @msbaugh440 "so why not support dodge or gm?" Because I don't have any money for a new car that's why. And I've owned a chrysler in the past. Wasn't satisfied with it, It had to many problems and was really frustrating to drive. Especially with the engine stalling every time you accelerated from a green light.

"Our government just gave millions in bailout to these companies." Which is what they shouldn't of done. That's also not the American way. government shouldn't control our industries.

  • @msbaugh440 ""piece of junk car" is beginning to no longer apply to these companies" I think Chrysler still makes pieces of junk. Just look at the Fugly pt cruiser. They still didn't discontinue that piece of crap, and as far as safety and reliability, it goes waaay below the marks and standards. I closed a door on a brand New HHR once. It's as if something was out of alignment by factory. It didn't shut smooth like they do on the Hondas.

  • @msbaugh440 In fact they should get rid of chrysler, and just keep dodge and jeep. Chrysler was originally intended to be a luxury car brand. And they were pretty damn good back in the day. However They aren't anywhere near towards that category now. Just another bland plasticy car below the rest of the competitors. .

  • na keep the air force one we now have rebult it down tho the last rivet

  • hey guys what do you think of the predicta television. its american...

  • Help Revive the US economy by buying American Products only this year! The government can not do it alone. We need to rally behind our US manufactures like we rally behind our sport teams!!!

  • UAW

  • Fuck asian cars!

    Buy only American!

    American Pride!

    White Power!!

  • Hell yeah mother fucker hi five

  • @usa1america asian cars are better

  • The shirt I am wearing is made in America< as are the socks, and the jacket I wear. Not everything, yet ! But I make that a number one priority to label shop. I saved a job in America ! Not an elected official ! Me ! How can I expect leaders to do something if I am not supporting what I believe in. You can too !

  • In a sick extreme John Galt way I agree with what you are saying.

I proudly buy American, but I sure as hell don't buy Union.

  • Yeah, great idea you moron. Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act part 2! Can't wait!

  • They should have a sell American clause. Why should Americans have to pay more for steel because greedy corporations send steel to China when the price is high.

  • I agree I am aa normal european. I believe everything you say is 100% correct. . But be careful some oversees products would only add to technology. America also depends on importing and will be crucified if you become protectionist as you will never pay of your debt and suffer chronic inflation. Think about the dangers If America and its economy crashes it could be caused by too much protectism.

  • check out John Riches shutten down detroit and the ibuyusa video on you tube the guy has great words. We cant be sheep and spellbound anymore by deceitful politicians, media, and forieign unfair trading countries wich are paying and owning these peoples greedy souls. They are not American Patriots They are about me not We.Support Fair trade Domestic owned. BUY USA on line and at stores. Country First !!!

  • This video sucks. The owner of this channel is illiterate i can tell by their grammar, so why would i trust them on what car i should buy? thats sad.

  • buying american keeps the money in the USA. The job you save could be your own ( if you have one )

  • @schnug63

You are suggesting that money is of a limited quantity?

  • @schnug63 annnnd its GOOD quality aswell!

  • so we should be forced to buy Fords and GM because Bush screwed up our economy?

  • because people need to realize that GM and Ford are overall better cars than some foreign cars like toyota and honda.

  • whoa....so untrue.

Toyota and Honda are rated MUCH better than most american made cars

  • false.

  • well then I suggest you do some research

  • @jboidaman99 id buy any toyota and honda and even germans over any american brand

  • @karlvinland where are you from? If you say america then i will personally come to you, beat your ass, and get you deported.

  • @jboidaman99 i am from monterrey mexico and how do you gonna deport me if im not in your country?

  • A TYPICAL LIBERAL SLUG....obama sucks balls alomng with all the rest of the BUSH BASHING LIBERAL FAGGOTS!!!

  • wow...so ignorant

  • I represent 9 midwest manufacturers - failure is eminent - please go out this week and buy 10 USA made products of your choice! Thank you

  • Buy USA on line and at stores.

  • This is a myopic view. Protectionism raises costs for consumers (in this case the American tax payer) and annoys other countries. Not even China supports trade policies as draconian as Americans do.

  • actually they have a 25% tariff against our 5% tariff, so they are protectionists.

  • @economyincrisis i know that you wrote this comment a year ago but if you have a little, just a little knowledge in economy you should know that this could unleash a trade wars, no more contracts overseas for american companies, countries banning all american products, etc. what surprise me the most is your lack of knowledge in history.. in 1930 the US government use protectionism the economy collapsed and cause the great recession.. let the experts handle the economic aspects of your country

  • Americans make the best products in the world And are watched and policed by all American citizens to make sure products are made safely as can be Or they are fined or sued. Companys that leave USA in make products elsewhere is for low standers ,slave wages, ect Other countries have much more closed markets. In japan only 5% of there cars are foreign made because of there gov. and there more patroitic. Many Americans used to be, lets be again. Go on line to USA MADE. Fair decent jobs USA MADE.

  • @bestwayusa1 i dont think so: japanese cars are better, japanese and south korean electronic are better just an example

  • This is yet another government control that works against the free market- the aim must surely be to buy the best or most cost effective products and services- not put restrictions on where they are sourced from.

Bottom line- if a business isn't providing what best suits the market then that business needs to change- otherwise you are propping up ineffective businesses and companies by government intervention- using taxpayers money! It's a no-win situation!

  • ok i agree buy america campaign goes against the traditionalist free market ideals. But the fact is i dont see any harm in Buy America campaign

Tax Payers dollars dont go to foreign companies but go to american companies . Debt owed to foreign governments will decrease . It will create jobs in America.

Steel companies in USA are not inefficient but they have higher cost structure because of stringent controls and high wage rate in USA

  • Trade is base on a product you dont have apples for bannans ext. not for thngs you do have. Free trade is a race to the bottom thinkng slave labor no environmental standards turn a blind i unsafe product thinkers These are the same people who buy blood diamonds.child forced labor products to save a dollar .. Hypocrites are what they are. Fair trade is trading with countries that have similar human rights and standards and wages. When you BUY AMERICAN we know most of these demands are met

  • The question that you need to ask is this:

Do proponents of high labour and environmental standards have the ability to keep these standards as well regulated and good as they are, or will the demand by middle class (mostly suburban) Americans for cheap goods erode these safeguards.

Prices will rise (with or without free trade). Foreigners will be blamed. Same old story.

  • Hah.

United States spends the last thirty years pushing countries to restructure into export based economies, to allow for the cheap ass consumption that we all take for granted. Now you want to be protectionist.

    Damned hypocrites.

  • The US didn't want free trade, we were against NAFTA & joining the WTO. Our leaders did not listen to us and now we the people are paying the price.

  • If republicans dont like this bill let them amend it on the floor and tell America why we should not spend American tax dollars on American made products. Buying American puts people to work. How can this be bad?

  • @OhioDemocrat is bad, because it could unleash a trade wars, every country could to the same against american products, "no more contracts or products from american companies" did you read abot the great recession in 1930? do you know what cause it?.. made a little research on the subject

  • Run for office

  • If you cant find a USA product in the store, let the company know your not okay with that. Than go on line to American made or USA made and you can find products there. Spread the word . And maybe stores will wise up again and companies. And make and sell American again.

  • Our government has sold us out.

  • Berry has FOLDED to the European Trade. The "made in the USA' chuase in the porkulius package has been DELETED. ETC threatened our weak spined Pres with a "tade war" and he sold out the USA Unions. So much for change.

  • This is silly. If the government wanted to "save money" on the stimulus, just cut out the pork! The money is supposed to end back in the hands of the taxpayers.

  • Both are right. We need to cut the pork and buy American.
