What's with all the airsoft elitist thinking they are such big boys for not playing nerf. You can't even compare the two- that would be like me telling you to go shoot real guns instead of airsoft guns (which is an argument I hear all the time as well). Nerf you can play anytime you want, indoors, just for the hell of it. Airsoft is not only 10-25x the cost of nerf, but you need all the gear, you need a good location, more time, and generally more participants. Not saying that either is better.

It really depends on where you live and what stores you have near you. If you can't find any in your place, try buying online because it doesn't fail. Only thing is that it is more expensive.

Paint ball, Airsoft, and NERF are all awesome in their own ways. Airsoft is more realistic, and tends to be more Milsim focused (Which I love). Paint ball is a middle ground and is more akin to a sport. NERF is all about simplicity, it's easy to pick up and play. Any decent Airsoft weapon will cost you at shelf price >100 USD. Anything lower than that (not including AEG pistols) is probably not worth the money if you plan on taking Airsoft seriously.

My modded Longshot can fire 98 feet. It has the capability, but NERF/Hasbro doesn't want the weapon causing injuries (you'd be surprised what a foam dart can do to an eye) or breaking things easily.

Because out of the box it's not very damaging. Where as Airsoft or Paint ball can actually tear through your eye and into your skull. The foam darts out of the box will cause bruising and if your very unlucky might tear part of your eye's film layer. Modded, it can be quite a bit more damaging. Hence why they strict say not to mod :P

ran out quickly ( but put up quite a fight)
