  • That is Awesome!!! I am trying to figure out the materials you used to make the mold and what did you poor in to cast it?

  • @mosleyau Thanks, well you can find most of the production images in the links provided in the description.

    The process goes like this:

    Sculpture from clay,

cover with silicone rubber building up the layers,

cover with plaster bandage to make it strong,

    Demold,

to make the hallow head i then used EasyFlo120 liquid polyurethane. pored into the mould and rotated around so that it covers all areas of the mould. it soon hardens to a white plastic.

    Any questions just ask.

  • @innerbreed I am making a dragon with 4 long horns. Will I need to remove these and cast them individually so there wont be any locking when pulling a part the mold? I noticed you got away with molding of the top teeth. That must of been difficult when applying the burlap not to deform the oil base clay.

  • @mosleyau yes i would cast them separately. the last thing you want is to rip your mould. the top teeth moulded fine as they ones i added to the Sculpture were pre- cast from urethane plastic from my original moulds. the teeth broke away from the clay during demold but this was expected. the reason i cast then in urethane first is that i didnt want to spend time picking the clay out of the mould. :)

  • @mosleyau Also if you look at Part two of the Alien Production videos you can see i use the urethane teeth applied to the sculpture.

  • @innerbreed I noticed the RTV silicon and Easyflo 120 is expensive. I am trying to get an idea for how much i will really need. How much RTV silicon did you use for your mold on the skull? And how much Easyflo 120 did you use?

    All this really helps!

    Thank You!

  • @mosleyau i used:

RTV Silicone Mould Making Rubber Kit- ShoreA 27 = 2.2kg +

Repsil Silicone RTV Moulding Rubber THICKENER ADDITIVE.

    EasyFlo 120 Polyurethane Liquid Plastic = 500g.

Plaster of Paris modelling bandage 2 Rolls (10cm x 5m)

  • I can't wait to see the final head design! Keep it up.
