ReVox F36 demonstration

hello, i have many vintage reel to reels, but not this one. the "magic eye" meter is one of the coolest ive seen. i thought the "revere had a cool light meter.......thanks for sharing!

also it will not record either the magic eye light does not come on now it recorded excellent before..... the reels rewind and forward fast yet when press play the button cums up again you can hear a clicking sound coming from the reostat??? inside this thing is square with a plastic cover with contacts which go in and out i presume //please email regards lz

hi seb i went to play my revox f 36 and when i press the play button it jumps back up about 5 secs later and will not play any info gladly recieved . it did play about a week ago the play button is it connected to a servo which pulls out it makes a clicking noise when press play button but it will not keep down it cums up and stops reels

hi seb what type of magic eye does this machine use ?? some have a magic eye with a grid etched on glass which wears off with time any info kindly recieved

hi seb are you obtaining tuchel leads or are you converting to xlr?lead on the machine or will it not accept this procedure

I will buy the Tuchel connectors, I have got the M5 out today but sadly it does not power up at all, not sure why yet so it will not be this week for the M5 video. :-(

fantastic machine sounds superb condition is stuning to have you any tips on this model mine will play rewind fast forward but when you press down the record button will not record or magic eye doesnt light up any tips gladly recieved kind regards ken uk

Hello, the only think I can think of is checking the switch contacts first, they may need cleaning.

yeah i have a rt 707 and a ampex atr 700 im looking for other machines i have 2 of both! there great but i kinda want a tube machine.

Got rid of my Ampex 700 or Teac recorder, the RT-707 I have one right by my computer, very good machine, a nice Tube or Valve recorder would be the Revox G36.

Should get either a nice A807 or A810 or a very nice PR99, on the domestic side, you should be able to get a RT-909 or a Teac X-2000R

Well, GREAT VIDEO, and good job on restoring that! I have just one question. That is: How good do you think that EMITAPE is? I got a 10/5" NOS reel of it in my closet and have never heard of it. I think it comes from CBC in Canada.

The EMI tape on this machine sounded alright, though I do not believe it's the best, this stuff was very new compared to the 10.5" reels I have on the BTR-2 which had a poor response, I think you will need to just try it and see.

Warm sound trust it's valve based... you could definitely see Revox where going to go places in the future I would dearly love to own one of those

i had the reVox C36 and the grey one (transistor)

the 36 had a green eye.

yours has a blue one..

Good machines!! watch out though for you knobs.

they will break very quick.

The magic eye is green but the camera is probably giving the wrong colour though, I like the earlier ones with the large magic eye from the mono machines.
