Gay marriage should always be legalized, especially in my state (Cali). Many people here have an idea about an establishment of an egalitarian society where all people have the special right to marry, date, be with and do whatever they want. To deprive a group of people their rights and say, "ewwww gay people,they're the exceptions.Let's not bestow special rights upon them." Isn't that a little contradictory to their ideas and overall hypocritical? I think so.Sick world we're in chrissy. :(

For example, a "male" (quotations because it is simply the legal identifier) intersex person who identifies and feels female but is attracted to women is perfectly allowed to marry a female, even though they are lesbians. However, a non-intersex, female lesbian cannot. Huh? Kind of makes the legal distinction look silly.

Why must the government deinstitutionalize marriage? because that is essentially what'd it'd be doing by turning "marriage" away from being our most public pro-family/child institution into a private contract between adults. (it also changes the definition of parenthood for everyone) Why in a free society limit marriage to two people according to your rationalization? Where do we draw the line? Why don't people who experience same sex attraction start churches and get married?

However religious people will argue that because homosexuality is a 'sin', we must do everything we can to discourage it, and this would include never lagalising gay marriage.
