  • Eigenlabs support just answered that it' important to download the latest software cause this should resolve the "broken sounds" of the pico(when it works alone).

  • Yahoo! It was for your video, that I looked many times but I did the same error always.Today I understood,a lot of thanks to you and your very nice patience.

  • @mickmuratori glad you got it working

  • Ok I try,a lot of thanks,really

  • It is a core duo 2,16 gh RAM 2gb 30 gb free the hd,audio interface is the first motu ultralite

  • @mickmuratori that's the bottom limit but should work, why don't you describe your issues in the forum and let the community help you? I'm pretty sure that Eigenlabs support will get back to you soon.

  • I have to win my personal battle with pico,I am sure that it will change the music of my group!

  • @gbevin they did not answer but I wait,I begin to think that my macbook is not so strong or something like this..yes I visited forum website

  • @mickmuratori what are the specifications of your Macbook? How much memory do you have?

  • Nothing, now I try to change USB cable

  • @mickmuratori you do know there's a community forum on the Eigenlabs website where you can get help from other users. Also, what did Eigenlabs support tell you?

  • Hi guys,I just tried to contact Eigenlabs,I wait in my mistic frustration but @gbevin:is it possible that I have to configure Logic to "receive" Pico?

  • @mickmuratori yes, in a similar way as GarageBand

  • I just bought the pico and I can shout that I losed my money.Only one time, following your

instructions,i could use it like a controller, always instable alone for itself and in Logic, for example.Terribly bad!And I want avoid speaking about eigenlabs support:disaster!

  • @mickmuratori why do you say Eigenlabs support is a disaster? What happened? Did you contact them? I'm certain they tried to help you to the best of their possibilities.

  • @mickmuratori wow i have to agree. Have spent 6 hours with this thing and have not got a sound, yet alone it working under Logic. What a disaster!

  • Cool, looking forward to seeing your videos :-)

  • Thanks for this - I just got my Pico and all your vids are really helpful! If eigenD doesn't see the MIDI output port in the browser just restart eigenD and it will show up. I had this problem but that fixed it.

  • Cool, thanks for the tip and glad you find my videos useful :-)

    Have fun with your Pico!

  • Could you see yourself using this instead of a normal midi-keyboard for programming drumbeats, synths and the likes within a program like Garageband or Logic?

I'm currently leaning towards getting this instead of something like an Axiom Pro from M-Audio for this reason. I guess if it is feasible depends on how much resources the EigenD app requires.

  • Sure that is totally possible, I can't really comment on EigenD's resource usage, but if you're not playing any virtual instruments in it and just use MIDI output, it shouldn't take much. I've got an Axiom keyboard and never use it since I find its feel artificial as a guitar player. The Pico feels like a real instrument to me even though I just started learning it. It's still young and in its early stage though, it will most probably get even better a few months down the road.

  • Thanks for answering. :) Yeah, maybe I should wait a few months and see what happens. They don't ship to Norway yet anyways, so the fact that I don't really have a choice to order it now might even end up being a positive thing.

  • Thanks for sharing this. You taught me a few tricks about OS X that I didn't know, that might be useful in many applications. :)

I've enjoyed several of your videos, it's nice that you share your experiences with this new instrument. After having used the Pico for a couple of weeks, do you find it limiting with the few buttons? I'm thinking I could use it as an addendum, hanging it from my neck when playing guitar. It seems to me to play it like a real instrument you need the Alpha, tho..

  • Hi, yes of course, the number of buttons are limiting. You essentially only have 2 octaves on a major/minor scale available at one time. However, I think that for its form factor, price, expressiveness and versatility, it just can't be beat. I'm planning on getting an Alpha also though but I think I'll continue to use both. I just love how I can put the Pico in my laptop bag and take it out anywhere I feel like it by just plugging it into the USB slot. The Alpha isn't as portable.

  • Yeah, the price is nice. And I guess for jams and the likes it will be nice to be able to have the Pico with you "wherever you go".

  • Sure thing, glad you find it useful.

  • Great tutorial. I certainly appreciate you blazing these trails for the rest of us to enjoy.
