My sympathies are with her amazing children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren today as they deal with their loss of their beloved matriarch. Dame Elizabeth once stated, that her "natural beauty" was also viewed by her as "a curse". What she meant by that was she was not able to secure serious roles (where you would not look radiant all the time). Marilyn Monroe had this same issue throughout her career. She wanted realism in her films too. Elizabeth finally did it with Richard and won her second Oscar for "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolfe?" She gave both Richard Burton and Montgomery Clift full credit for teaching her how to act.
