I'm beginning to think the best pianists all play Bach well. Anderszewski, Argerich, Richter, Gilels, Michelangeli. Their attention to counterpoint makes the music so much more detailed in a cohesive way.
I loved his Diabelli Variations, and this is excellent as well.. But pianists who conduct from the keyboard look a bit ridiculous, not to mention it's a bit distracting...somehow I don't think the orchestra needs their direction...b/c the overall interpretive approach is set in rehearsal...not in performance...
Well, Anderszewski is a good pianist. He plays with a subtle beauty and grace. Is he a great pianist? Not yet. He's very young, and he has many years ahead of him to achieve a much higher level of playing. We'll have to wait and see what he does.
I love this guys playing. It's so neat, musical and beautiful. This is the sound I have been trying to get from my own playing and I've never heard a pianist play like it. Plus, I like his top!
when Beauty is - there is this Greatness of Creation: thank you so much Mr Anderszewski for sharing with us your great art of music and Life, musical heart felt greetings from Switzerland, Bhavani
very subtle tonal texture that he creates is very difficult to be captured in recordings. for me he is the best pianist among those who are active at the moment
Ja, Anderszewski is commonly scholar, live in particular: i had almost go off to sleep on his concert. However: he plays extremly clear and plastic (with a bit foggy pedaling), all in all he is a bit immature ...
