Is that the effect of being a human parasite? Aliens can get 20% of it's host genes maybe that's the answer?
WojtaStudios
that was the point in this stage, but evry alienshoot was in absence of greater lights so the dome wasn't iluminated enough to see it in the final footage ... maybe it would be better if the film was shot in HD back than =P
Actually, there is no "It couldn't be" when it comes to alien species. We as humans are limited to what we know because we're stuck here on Earth with virtually no knowledge of anything else. If the universe is infact ever expanding and infinite, then what we think we know is so small a percentage of a greater whole, that a new classification of numerical values would have to be created just to express how little we actually know of the universe.
What I found strange is that the alien have "places" for eyeballs. They are no use for him if there's no eyeballs. So what's the point of having those "places" for eyeballs?

@WojtaStudios HG Giger's origianl character designs were a little different then the 'Aliens' that were used in the films. Look at how old that footage is. I'd imagine that was the original prototype alien before they made drastic changes to it to make it appear less human.
They asked the biologists if such a creature could exist. The biologist said it could almost exist, it's propably a sauroid (dinosaur like), and the eggs were ok, dinosaurs were also propagated with eggs. The think that the scientists disagree with was that the creature needed a host for reproduction. A succesful creature doesn't need a host to reproduce. The second think that they disagree was the blood, it coudn't be an acid like fluid. An other was something with the balance during walking.
@Warlord2029 Imagine how much would this cost if they decide to stock it, I recently saw a video, they stocked some Star Trek things on very high prices for the collectors.
@hrbear My agent that I buy my highend collectables told me that this was back in gigers possesion, every once in awhile it makes a tour around the states.
The dome. In the next life you'll remember that you spent your last 10 seconds in this life trying to figure out how the damned thing could see you just before it bashed your head in.
I prefer the dome, it just looks totally unearthly. The scull im not sure about. Too human, it be scarier if they had the hint of just one eye or something else there. Maybe a giant brain inside the dome, that for me be scarier. Just the hint of one.
The skull face behind the head-dome, along with the humanoid body were to illustrate the idea that the xenomorph species copys the DNA of whatever host it hatches from - in order to fit perfectly into its environment and procreate further. I think the eyesockets and the skull face were mere remnant features with no real "seeing" function. The creature probably still preceices the world through some unknown senses.
My vote: the skull stays, the dome stays on top to make it bearly visible.

at first when the dome was taken of it looked like the newborn which reminded me of that terrible 4th sequel.

When you see this its so obvious that Scott was the only director to understand Gigers perverted concepts..
