Gary Peters may only teach one course per semester but he is the best professor I have ever had. I've never met Dennis but it seems to me there are many more reasons they should have kicked him out. The kid was freakin' stalking professors and administrators...can't wait to see what he's going to do with his new government job. ugh.

I used to go to Central and was in a class with Dennis Lennox. He is a whiny, disruptive little bitch. Political orientation is not the issue here, it's being respectful to students and faculty and maintaining a conducive academic environment. Anyone who follows around the dean with a videocam deserves to get smacked, even though Dennis will cry like a little bitch when swats him out of the way.

I'm a conservative student. I go to Central. I've not ever had a problem with any of my professors regarding my political stance because I don't run my mouth and act like a moron. There isn't a fine line between speaking your beliefs and being obnoxious, and Dennis Lennox is and has always been the latter.

PS. I've had Dr. Gates as a professor, and not only is she a wonderful lady, but she is also a great professor.

If Dennis Lennox wasn't so worried about harassing the professors on his campus, and would have worried about what was going on in his life, then he wouldn't be in this prediciment. He's a cancer on campus, and should be kicked out.

I couldn't agree more with RideTheRapid. Free speech is one of this country's most important rights, but just like any right, it can be used to an extent that goes beyond its initial intent. When a student like Lennox consistently harasses Gary Peters, it no longer becomes about politics. It doesn't matter that Lennox is conservative and Peters is running under the Democratic party. What Lennox is doing is bullying, and that is simply unacceptable on a university campus.

In addition to teaching political science classes, the Griffin Endowed Chair "leads the university's efforts to elevate political awareness and activity among students, faculty and citizens." How better to do that than have the chair run for office?

The Chair is ENDOWED which means the university doesn't pay for it - what does Dennis Lennox care if the Griffins want to pay Peters Salary?

What kind of wuss thinks pushing a camera away constitutes "assault."

The real warning to students should be: don't harass and stalk a professor, it will get you kicked out. Dennis Lennox had nothing better to do than hassle professor Peters whenever he was on campus, inhibiting his ability to be an effective teacher. The school administration asked Lennox to refrain from harassing Peters, and when he did not, they kicked him out. There is a big difference between free speech and continued harassment.
