  • Helium, LOL!

  • Bastard?

  • Oddly enough, since they had that meeting, all sides in the conflict had a meeting and sorted everything out. In fact, they're now in the same coalition government.

Which is a bit of a shock!

  • Sien Fien are always gettign angry but with Hellium teehee.NO

  • Great point redcoat!morris in this sketch found a hilarious way of ridiculing the british governments ban at the time.Top quality satire, alas some people just don't get it.

  • HAHA, fuck the IRA!

  • been looking for this clip for ages and today youtube recommended it to me cos i watched something else :D

  • Seriously, people are surprised about politics being discussed on a political satire show?

Idiots, just because it's "comedy" doesn't mean it doesn't have an underlying message. Telling people to stop discussing things and just enjoy it brainlessly is exactly how NOT to take Morris's stuff.

  • Did they really need the helium?

PS: Thatcher was a fool to try to stifle republican messages so cack handedly.

  • Thanks for uploading. Fucking quality, timeless satire

  • @standarsh78 fancy a pizza? :D

  • Excellent parody of the Tory ban on Sinn Fein back in the day. Very funny show. :)

  • those where the days lol

  • Check out Carál Ní Chuilín, she is the IRA's answer to Megan Fox.

  • He sounds like Barry McGuigan.

  • @MrXela33 Too true! Youtube is a complete farce at times -.-

  • i have never clicked 'flag for spam' so many time on here as with this clip, it's from a comedy show, take your political discussions elsewhere.

  • Haha this clip is gas, shame about the complete faggots politicising it.

  • @Phlegasus, meatballs have political agendas?

  • @geekymarianne No, bundles of wood do.

  • @Phlegasus, ah, good to know you're using language in a woodophobic way rather than a homophobic way :)

  • please debate republicanism vs. unionism elsewhere, thank you

  • @cherrysweetable "u fuckin idiot, u just don't understand"

Lol, what happened to living together as one? So basically your declaration of universal love comes down to united Ireland = bad; partition of Ireland = good.

And I don't understand? Well my Canadian-British friend, why don't you lecture me on what I don't know about my own country, and then I can come to Canada and lecture Canadians on where they went wrong with their history. I'm sure they'd appreciate it just as much as we would.

  • @cherrysweetable 'WHO FUCKIN CARES!

People in West Belfast care, people in south Armagh and North Louth care, people in Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan, West Tyrone and the Bogside care.

"Fuck the IRA and anyone else like them, who seeks to build barriers between human beings."

What the is the partition of Ireland if not a barrier built between human beings? I appreciate your cosmopolitan heritage but that still doesn't explain why all Irish people living in Ireland shouldn't live under Irish rule

  • @cherrysweetable Don't understand, why should the minority in Ireland get their own state and the minority in Northern Ireland not get their own state? If you believe that partition works, then surely it makes sense to partition Northern Ireland? Why should a person in East Donegal get to live in an independent state and a person in West Tyrone 5 minutes walk away have to live under British rule. The largest group in Northern Ireland are of Irish descent followed by Scottish, then English.

  • TERRIERISTS

  • @cherrysweetable *I modified my last post, as there was a pointless repetition in it.

  • @cherrysweetable I understand perfectly, as I used to feel the same way you did. I've looked deeper into it though and its changed my mind I'm not saying that NI should just be handed over today out of hand, too much time has passed for that. My analogy was shit, but what I was trying to say is that the partition was a self-serving injustice, you cant just cherrypick anothers country based on current ethnicity. The Union (with Britain) was only enacted in 1801 against the will of the Irish people.

  • Comment removed

  • @cherrysweetable In fairness though, the Brits(of which I am 1) just picked a part of Ireland where they had the most support, and decided to keep a hold of it.It'd be like if Ireland occupied the UK,and then kept hold of the North of England(with the premise that there'd been huge Irish immigration, and the majority being of Irish decent)..do you see what I mean?I just think that partition was a swindle. In the here and now though,I'm not so adamant about abandoning NI..especially to bullies.

  • Omg! His voice is soo funny! XD

  • Coogan is a comic legend

  • Is this berk bellow me trying to be funny or is he just a knob who's lost the plot? Answers on a post card please.

  • Eh? What's that about? As Hitchens made the point, Hussein was a nasty bastard and needed to be go rid of(albeit NOT for the fabricated 'evidence' espoused by the US military), but I see NO reason why the US and UK have forces remaining there or Afghanistan for that matter.

  • @TheVoidShallReap Brits have virtually no presence in Iraq now,and the U.S. have largely withdrawn too..not nearly soon enough, and the post war planning was criminally inept.Once the insurgency started though, many felt it would be foolish to cut and run.Same with Afghan, leave now and risk that country being plunged back into the stone age.I do think it should be entirely up to the people of those countries to decide whether foreign forces remain or not.

  • TERRIERISTS ,HAHA

  • "Your tone is antagonistic and it's making me very angry!" classic

  • bastard? lol

  • hehe fucking genius

  • Dark UK sketch comedy with a hint of mint. This is our first video and we'd love to know what you think. If you like it please rate, comment, subscribe!

  • There is amnesty for terrorists who commited terrorism before good Friday agreement.

  • @Nakedhominid i'm prettyy sure they did... and it was the conservatives parties friends of isreal group that stopped the bbc from doing the same... to be honest i can't be bothered looking for it... but there definitley were appeals and not from the bbc...

  • @Nakedhominid i'm sure itv did make the broadcast... not sure about sky...

  • @Nakedhominid i think the bbc is a tool of the government, especially now after dr kelly was murdered... sorry, committed suicide... no one who toes the party line at the bbc will have a job for much longer... state sponsored television... why were the bbc not allowed to do a disaster appeal for people in gaza a few years ago?

  • Chris "skin complaint" Morris

  • this was true maggies goverment stopped real voices being used.... tory cunts

  • I love Chris Morris

  • hahahahah sounds like he is irish

  • How did he manage that without laughing?

  • terrierists ha ha the subtle things are always the best, what a great program to be the foundations of brass eye

  • Strange stuff indeed arguing out the Irish question on the pages of youtube and on a Day Today clip!!!

Incidently, I am from England and I wish you fucking morons who support the loyalists would fuck off and give us our flag back.

  • @Reluctant6

I'm in 2 minds to go back over all the comments, I'd not be surprised if Hitler get's a mention somewhere!

Voted your reply, good to know there are people with sense on Youtube! it's getting rarer by the day!

  • "Your tone is antagonistic and you're making me very angry!!"

  • quality ahh haaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • 312 for v 19 against 159,640 who viewed this upon 26-4-2010 makes up a combined figure percentage of 0.2637183663242295 as those who could be bothered voting.

  • You two are a bunch of morons.

    This is plain funny.

    Chucky egg 2

  • All sides had a meeting and sorted everything out - if only!

  • Bastard?

  • lol

  • Difference of opinion then. I made my statement because having watched more and more television from around the world I often come to the conclusion that many "American" shows are actually not that original.

  • I realize this, where did I state otherwise?

  • Wow its strange how you hate the English so much but yet you dont even have the respect to give Ireland a capital letter but yet you give us one.

  • Brilliant stuff, only recently have discovered shows like "I'm Alan Partridge" and The Day Today. I'm struck by the sense that The Daily Show is basically the US version of The Day Today. Wouldn't surprise me at all considering so many US shows are copies of shows from abroad remade for a US audience.

  • @G0LFMADE I find more like a earlier version of the onion news network.

  • only the daily show is crap and jon stewart isnt funny.

  • @G0LFMADE The Daily Show isn't quite on par with the satirical force of Chris Morris. Vut, hey, John Stewart is only human, whereas Morris is most certainly not!

  • For those of you too young to remember the British brought out a "law" that said the voices of Sinn Fein politicians could not be broadcast. Instead of challenging this in the courts the TV companies paid voice-over artists to speak while showing interviews with Sinn Fein. It was silly and ridiculous as this clip parodies. lol the good old days!

  • @foleyoni I remember it so well. I think half the time it was actors. Oh what children we are that we coldnt listen to the real voices.

  • Section 31 yeah?

  • @foleyoni

and those actors were all out of the job when the restrictions were lifted.

  • @foleyoni

Friend, -You mean a small cluster of racial, peremptory anglo-saxon criminals (margaret thatcher, norman tebbitt & geoffrey archer, etc.) -All Law Breakers, as always, who needed to be stopped & finished by any means.

-By now, (2010AD), everyone knows that they were entirely Evil.

  • @guthywoodry 'entirely Evil' is a funny thing to say when you aren't the author of a fantasy novel aimed at teenagers.

  • @tombstone2me

How on Earth could you know what I am or am not the author of ?

Have you been inhaling Helium or something ?

  • @guthywoodry I guess I don't know. That isn't the point. Whether you are or aren't a fantasy author, this isn't a fantasy novel. Moral absolutes are an impossibility. It's intellectually dishonest to use the words 'entirely Evil' in a grown up conversation, especially to claim that 'everyone' agrees with you.

  • @tombstone2me I think that someone's been gorging themselves on Chomsky!:-P

  • OMG, that's hilarious - he must inhale helium to subtract credibility from his statements! Love Steve Coogan!

  • i just checked your website, man your a moron.

  • This is how ridiculous political interviews with Sinn Fein used to be. A brilliant piece of satire.

  • "Bastard?"

  • Perfect! lol

  • Actually if you want to see footage of Sinn Féin being dubbed by actor's voices, that this clip is parodying, just youtube "gagged Sinn Féin".

  • Nope, that doesn't seem to show up any results.

  • Nope, no results either. Are you sure you're from the United States, as your profile says? Because you're comments would suggest you are a Protestant from Northern Ireland...

  • Huge lol

  • Very arn-gry!

  • Does anyone know anywhere online, either on youtube or somewhere else, where you could find footage of Sinn Fein speaking with actors dubbed over their voices?

  • check out markymarks channel

  • just go to any bbc/itn news footage from 1987 to 1994............you'll find loads.

  • Ha ha, yeah that would be hilarious!!

  • Brilliant piece of political satire! 5 Stars!

  • Which abuser is that? You mean that wife abuser Johnny Adair?

  • TERRIERISTS!

  • Thats a cracker. lol

  • Is that sketch rite or wrong

  • haha he sounds like a leprachaun:)

  • "Both sides have had a meeting and have sorted everything out". That's the funniest bit.

  • I was just about to type that. lol

  • Calm down Ladies!

Nobody cares anymore; Al-Qaeda works for the USA now. I'm sure that this is going to cause great trouble for Barrack Obama in the future but until then it's people like you that're giving the US a head-ache.

Consider breathing in and out ten times and then sitting down and drinking tea. Then consider how stupid what you're doing here is.

    BTW; cool story bro

  • class piece of comedy but remember this makes fun at the ban on irish republicans who were not to speak on british television because of a law set in 1988....lets also remember irish television (RTE) banned the same people from the tv in the early 70s but had no humour bone do do something as good as this.yeah i know free state bastards.lol

  • i remember when i was lttle watching gerry adams on tv. didn't realise they did this in ireland

  • funniest thing i've seen in ages

  • ignorant bastard. go rot in that shithole you call a country, cunt.

  • i always knew coogan was a closet provo.

  • He lives in Ireland, funnily enough.

  • Terrierists!!! LOL

The Day Today seems to be the main "inspiration" for the Onion News Network. I mean I like The Onion News but it's just a copy of The Day Today.

  • Northern Irish accents on helium! Brilliant!

  • still genius. i dunno how they keep a straight face in this show. god bless the whole cast.

    x

  • Brilliant satirical parody of Sky/Fox. The graphic of Steve Coogan as Gerry Adams, met with the caption 'Bastard?'. That's not far off the kind of low level sniping these media organisations will stoop to. Ahead of its time.

  • Love the mis-spellng of terrorist on the background display. Looks like they're describing a terror dog.

  • they are! in this episode they report the controlled explosion of a 'dog-bomb'

  • That stupid retarded law was still around when they made this, I thought it had just been repealed but it was another eight months.

  • lol thats genius

  • ok we are all agreed we are all bastards and from that a lasting peace can be formed

  • It's the last sentence which is the funniest for me.

  • yeah good one bellend

  • any1 who supports the IRA is an idiot, wherever they come from

  • yeah cos your some american who knows nothing about irish or british politics and the fact that the IRA murders women and children, instead you've got some hollywood view on how the irish are sentimental 3rd class ticket holders from the titanic who all want independence and love leonardo de caprio

  • @Bollo1987

    look up 'the Irish holocaust'.

women and children murderers? look in the mirror.

  • @RepublicOf32 can't really say I give a shit about something that happened in the 19th century

  • @Bollo1987

well how the fuck can you expect us to care about waht our army did to you?

  • because it happened less than a hundred and fifty years ago.

  • @RepublicOf32 the very fact that u speak english says quite a lot ...ah hahahahah/

  • @sunkcontrol

Yes, it does say a lot about the brits.

That they killed people for speaking in their own language.

    Brave men, brave men indeed.

  • @TheVoidShallReap Sinn Fein is a legitimate political party

  • @kerouac61 having an electoral mandate does not excuse murder. Sinn Fein and the IRA are the same organisation, and dont try to tell me otherwise, Im from Belfast.

  • @TheVoidShallReap get over yourself you armchair hack!! I was quoting the video. Leave the politics out of what is supposed to be a comedy video please!

  • @TheVoidShallReap what about Iraqis right to life? bet your not bothered about that

  • @h60562 Great point. I think their skin is too brown and their language isnt English enough for many to care.

  • @TheVoidShallReap I hope you sucked your helium before you said that

  • @TheVoidShallReap Thank you somebody!

  • @sunkcontrol

Ha ha ha ha, you listen to RATM? My God, you need to get your head right kid.

Do you know that one of their albums was dedicated to the officer commanding of the IRA inside long kesh? He also led the 1981 hunger strike. You might've heard of him, his name is Bobby Sands.

  • @RepublicOf32 bobby em,bobby,oh yes bobby sands i know him ,slimmer of the year 1980,a trail blazier to all us fattys .he will probley end up on some realty show some day.hes dead on big lad.,

  • and is there someone that decides when events become irrelevant? no, you just have double standards you fucking scumbag.

  • yes I do have double standards, for example i would be more upset if my dad was killed by a bomb than if i found out my great great great grandfather (who I never had much in common with anyway) starved to death. But well done for standing up for all those affected by the irish holocaust. I'm sure it means a lot to them.

  • @RepublicOf32 sorry its not top trumps, you don't get another go just because the irish holocaust lost on points.

  • terrierists haha

  • You're 48 and you talk like that and have videos of naked women on your profile. You sir, need a life.

  • u're exactly the kind of person morris is mocking!

  • I remember when youtube was a place for laughing at chavs, not having political debates!

  • The difference being that George Washington and Winston Churchill didn't murder innocent children in their political aims. I respect the independence of Ireland, but not at any cost.

  • Oh so Churchill didn't kill any innocent children during the bombings of Germany? It's called war; innocent people get killed. The IRA have always expressed regret when an innocent gets caught up in the war, which is more than some. They were a non-sectarian political army fighting a foreign nation in their land.

  • Wake up numpty....you can always tell the ones who have never even been within 200 yards of weapon....

  • Ulster Unionists are foriegners in Ireland?

The reason I can't even begin to justify the IRA's views is because they ignore the key reason Northern Ireland is part of the UK still. There is a large population that still wants to be part of the UK. People who put geography before popular opinion on issues of 'unity and freedom' and back that up with bombings are INSANE!

  • Yeah, I bet the IRA were really tore up during the pub bombings back in '74. "Man I'm gonna regret this. Hell, I'll even express regret."

    What a crock of shit.

  • Yeah, I bet the British Army really tore up during the masssacre of kids on the streets back in 81. 'Man I'm gonn regret this. Hell, I'll even express regret." What a crock of shit.

  • True man. If you ask me, both sides are just as guilty of being bastards. I certainly don't condone the UK's actions any more than I condone those of the IRA.

  • why would you say 'Aerican/Canadian' response when everyoneknows they hate each other...

  • Yes you are absolutely right! Al Qaeda would have every right to kill as many Americans as they possibly could - that is if there actually was a real group called Al Qaeda! There isn't of course! Al Qaeda is a complete "Terrorist" invention and fabrication of the CIA and the Bush Govt - just like the so-called 911 Terrorist Attacks were!

  • Really? England was built on terrorism and there was no better example than the English school system. This is not even mentioning English terrorist tidbits like the Highland Clearances,Australian transporting, the rape of China,India and South Africa and much, much more!!! Again Sinn Fein are like consecrated Saints compared to the sadistic and inhuman history of the English!

  • Who do you think you are? Mel Gibson? I suggest you try reading up on, for example, the Highland Clearances before you spout such utter drivel. I shalln't bother listing what is wrong with your statements so far because trying rational debate with people like you is as useful as trying to nail a jelly to the ceilling

  • It's satire
