  • Ouch ... that looked painful. When you start running barefoot after so many years of using shoes, yes, you are going to do a heel strike (because that's what you're body is used to)---but then your body realizes the heel strike doesn't work because it starts hurting, so it will naturally adjust to the proper barefoot running form.

  • Agree with everyone else... the video should be named "how NOT to run barefoot".

  • holy..... ouch, you need to not land on your heel first bro, seriously painful

  • Wow look at the tension on in that foot. For a runner this is painful to look at. Nice footage though, no pun intended.

  • great video of over stride trauma. this is heel impact trauma. Inverted "Y" gait pattern can only lead to knee and hip replacement.

  • Also nice to see that there is absolutely no flexing action in the toes. The big one even continuously points skyward!

Indeed a "how NOT to run barefoot" instruction!!

    Quite informative that way though.

  • This is a human, the best overall runners on the planet, who doesn't know how to run.

And before anyone says "horses are better" no they aren't. There are monks and tribes in some parts of the world the males of which can run almost 2 marathons every day. And when our nail breaks we don't die, like horses.

We really are an amazing species with incredible physical talent, people seem to forget this.

  • @ihaterobbie123 great point!

  • Can u show a forefoot land? Video camera... The new invention

  • That is not a natural barefoot running "strike". -_-'

  • OW! Heel landing....

  • That was a heel strike which causes your leg to absorb more shock that it should, you should be aiming to land of you forefoot, chances are that stride was too long, shorten it.

  • 踵着地は、ベアフットではない、間違ってる

  • You don't need a video to teach you you learn on your own it's natural evolution

  • If the author of this video is trying to teach proper foot strike while barefoot running this video should be banned.

  • this is how people typically run when they have shoes on! barefoot runners know better...

  • haha what a ridiculous post. NO ONE runs like this barefoot.

  • ouch.

  • Can anyone point me to a video of a correct barefoot stride?

  • First of all, no one runs like this barefoot. Second, you don't need a video to learn how to run barefoot. Just do it (without Nike).

  • @ukslim try this:

    youtube (dot) com (slash) watch?v=zIL07uYAW-Q

  • This video should be named "how NOT to run barefoot"

  • that is the worst step i have ever seen

  • It takes balls to run barefoot.........the balls of your feet that is! Never land on your heel....ouch!!

  • Agree completely with previous poster, heman5up. Heel strike is deadly to barefoot runners, but slo-mo video is quite lovely.

  • Love the video but hate the running form. Barefoot running should NEVER been done with heel strike. In fact, its impossible to run more than few hundred feet if one runs barefoot using heel strike and body adapts to less painful and more efficient form which is closer to mid-foot strike.

  • that heel strike looked painful!
