I can't stress it enough. NARUTO is not the origin of the name Amaterasu, Susano or Tyskyomi. It all falls back to Japanese mythology, which was based off of this wolf you see here. So if anything, NARUTO took the name from Japanese myths and from Amaterasu. You must be a major idiot to think that a NARUTO character would be in this game >.>. Go Ammy, and Issun!

A cult classic in which she represents the Goddess Amaterasu from Japanese mythology.

It is an incredibly amazing and beautiful game which works in a similar way to The Legend of Zelda and was even inspired by it.

Interestingly, the use of a wolf as a main character was used later on Twilight Princess.

As much as I agree with you, Okami would lose it's feeling:

The game was made on a PS 2, and I've seen some pretty high graphic PS2 games, Final Fantasy Being some of them. The developers of this game chose the style specifically because they meant for it to look as if it were an animated Japanese art piece. However, I also agree with in the matter that I wonder how it would look in a story manner.

If you look real close, when Amaterasu is finishing the hulk at the end and her special move thing is going in slow motion, you can see ink markings form around her in the air right before the ice or lightning or whatever hits the opponent. I love how seriously they took her when making her for this game.
