I don't do the whole Asian music thing (I like foreign music in general), but I love this band, vocalist has such a lovely voice, and this is a pretty song!
omg I didn't know she was with pastel music! I looove the artist they have x333 she has a really amazing voice and soothing songs x3 I love the melody! ;D
really? i thought Pastel was the biggest indie label there... Can you tell me how they're not at all an independent label? Are you saying this because they won the "best label" title at the 2006 Korean Popular Music Award?
Originally the term "indie" was coined as a genre describing bands and artists that had no financial support from a label. So they formed their own label, thus being "independent".
These bands have no major label support mainly because they had a unique sound that wasn't mainstream. So, more and more, nowadays bands that have that "under-the-radar" sound are automatically called "indie" even though their label (Pastel) financially supports them. :)
I'm accustomed to the older meaning. When someone shows me and "indie" band, it's usually a band that's completely supporting themselves. Lately anything alternative, sub-pop, or underground, regardless of a label or not, is called independent mainly because of the way they sound. Interesting how music is evolving. :)
I've come to respect the more current meaning of "indie" as aesthetic opposed to "mainstream" or "popular". I think "underground" now really carries a similar meaning as well.
That said, I can see how Misty Blue would fit this meaning of indie (in contrast to what sells particularly well in the Corean music industry), although certainly not a DIY band, which is what I've come to call the acts that are truly independent.

I like these guys too...but, just throwing this one out there, they're not "indie". They are under Pastel, which is not at all an independent label.
