  • @flowerdna on a fundamental level, yes :). And there are some basic logical fallacies that you need to consider when asking a question of that sort: post hoc ergo propter hoc, for one example.

    doesnt cure depression though and i dont believe it helps memory or builds new brain cells because im messed up in head and I excercise everyday.

  • It can cure some people's depression. It definitely helps with stress by breaking down cortisol and helps raise the level of natural endorphins. By exercise I mean 45 minutes at least of intense aerobic activity.

  • aerobic exercise does help increase memory long term, and it does help increase mood short and long term, but i would imagine that is in healthy people. if someone has a form of clinical depression, simple jogging probably isn't going to be much of a cure.

  • Explain "messed up." You may have been worse without the workouts/exercise.

    more like developmental neuroscience. neurology is the medically applied counter-part.
