  • That's awesome, keep it up ;). I'd like to be able to play as well as you

  • Wow... blistering speed! Fantastic!

  • but i dont understand how u teach

  • its probably the most beautyfull i heard for many years.......thank you !!!

  • Hey is that a Syn whistle? Lovely playing btw.

  • Lovely playing. Pity you hid so much of your hard work with the reverb. The details of your music would have come through much clearer without.

  • Keep sharing the magic, us players by ear are learning xx

  • echo???

  • Amazing job! Who made this flute? Which key is it in?

  • sounds to me like a standard d

  • Wow :) it would be nice to play such an instrument but im really clumsy and i dont think i can perfect the art, i rather come and see you playing haha.

Whats a fiddle? i keep reading this all the time in different videos. Anyways congrats!!!

  • A fiddle is a violin but some fiddlers flatten out their bridge so that they can play two strings at once (to make chords).

  • Oh woow!! thank you :]

  • While it's true that some fiddlers have a flattened bridge, you will *always* be able to play two strings no matter the curved profile. A flattened bridge requires less effort to transition the bow from string to string (eg. from the 1st string to the 4th), the price being it's easier to accidentally sound neighboring strings and make spurious noises. I got rid of my flattened bridge for this reason.

  • By the way, there is no agreed difference between a fiddle and a violin. By the way 2, you're great Ryan!

  • anywhere I can find the sheet music to these? toss the feathers is my favorite tune (not just out of these), and i only have a fiddle version of it that doesn't work on tin whistle.

    thanks and great job ryan!!

  • @Vaskis4life

Find out how much your fiddle music is off, then transcribe to whistle. For instance, if your fiddle version is in C and your whistle is in D, drop every note an octave. Try it for the first five notes, if it works, keep going, if it doesn't, drop them again. If it's a chord, find out what note it's sounding and do you have that on your whistle or is there something similar. Or is it just embellishment that you could drop while still keeping the soul of the song intact.

  • wow great job on those tunes, especially the last one. what make is your whistle?

  • Beautiful stuff, Ryan. Keep it going. Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam.

  • great.

  • Inspiring...takes me to a different place

  • Very good!

  • Great playing - lively, controlled and fantastic graces. Well done!

  • You're really good! im an irish dancer. I've grown up with music. My dad if from ireland. I love the tune choice. I took whistle for a little while. I dont remember anything though! Oh well, good job!

  • yet another great performance, some great grace notes played in there. your an exellent player mate, if u can, could u leave ma message possibly tellin me where to get a half decent tin whistle and that program ur usin for the echo?

  • absolutely beautiful. I would vote against the echo, seems cheesy and takes away from the purity and clarity of the instrument and your playing. Amazing. Thank you.

  • hello! well done! i want to play this too! how many time does it take to have your level?

  • Excellent work, Ryan! (I think Sir James will enjoy this if and when he drops by...)

    Sincerely,

    Bill McBirnie

  • I also love the echo, adds quite a bit of body to your tone. You play very well. I've been looking for a wind instrument to take up, and thanks to your videos, the Tin Whistle is definately up there on my list.

  • fantastic effect! which whistle did you use here?

  • The echo effect is achieved by running in through my iMovie program and adding reverb. I like the echo - my bedroom has no acoustics and everything sounds very flat.

  • Hello!

I am really enjoy your playing. Where are you from?

How long have you been playing? Have you made a CD? Being from Cape Breton I don't get to hear a lot of Irish music on the whistle, thanks for sharing you talent, I look forward to hearing more of your stuff.

    Take care and God Bless,

    David

  • I'm enjoying listening to your many whistle videos here, Ryan. Nice work!

What's causing the heavy echo effect? For me, it takes away from the quality of your playing.

  • Very nice Ryan. Keep them coming.

  • How do you get the echo effect?
