He's got kind of a Rob Sound to him?...Gotta admit I grew up on Sabbath in the mid70s-mid 80s I never knew Geezer had a solo project?...this was total 80s type lyrics lol.
The thing is, this may seem glam, but its still relatively heavier than the other bands. ALSO this is the band that wrote one of my favorite sabbath songs. Master Of Insanity.
It is what it is. Remember it's 1987, height of glam, big hair. Sabbath members not immune to effects of era. Just look at Ozzy during Ultimate Sin and even Iommi did some stuff with keyboards. End of decade though, they all seemed to snap out of it. Dehumanizer still rocks. This song is OK.
geezer is the best bass player ever in my opinion i love his playing i also love this project just because of the expiremental stuff he was doing i think its interesting /,,//,,/
Geezer always seems to have a finger on the pulse of the times, really. Check out the G//Z/R albums from the 90's, even the songs he co-wrote with Ozzy and Zakk Wylde on Ozzmosis deomnstrate that. That's what I like about him, along with being a bad-ass bassist.
Geezer rules but this is butt/ass/glam rock schlock. Thank the fucking stars that the late 80's ae dead and buried. GEEZ rules and is where he belongs again--in Sabbath.
Don't like this song very much... but... you are talking about GEEZER BUTLER!
A man that playied masterpieces like war pigs and heaven and hell, and you are good just to say "PARANOID", wich is the most commercial song of the sabs?
Carlo, I meant the full-length album "Paranoid," not the song itself (first time I've heard it called commercial! Guess it is for Sab). Geezer is incredible. I love Sabbath, and actually this song is sticking in my head lately...it just seems weird to me to see him rocking out in this vid (shaking himself like it's really happening!), with it being not-such-a-good-song.
Such an incredibly awful time and sub-genre of music. I know because I was there and unfortunately played a lot of it! Hilarious, yet there were so many talented musicians involved...a paradox.
im not a big fan of this the computer god demo which is here on you tube is much better but i prefer geezer in sabbath hes the best bassist ever in my opinion
As usual, the bassist gets lost in the editing. I never even knew about this project! But I'm glad he decided to tour with Ozzy for "No Rest For The Wicked".
although i love metallica james has really never sounded good live, ozzy doesnt sound good live and hasnt since the late 80's, dio sounds great still but sounded better when younger, i think anything from the tony martin era of sabbath sucks and i feel the only legitimate sabbath lineups are Osbourne/Iommi/Butler/Ward, Dio/Iommi/Butler/Ward, Dio/Iommi/Butler/Appice, Gillan/Iommi/Butler/Ward, Gillan/Iommi/Butler/Bevan, Osbourne/Iommi/Butler/Appice, Osbourne/Iommi/Butler/(Bordin & Larkin)
I used to be in a band with debatably the best guitarist on the east coast, and when he spoke about guitarists he liked, he would mention Sykes, Rhoads, Schenker, but he mainly talked about one guy, his guitar teacher: Jimi Bell. One of the great unsung heroes of rock guitar.
I never knew this existed, now I have to look for tis on CD, probably out of print, 87 CDs were just coming out and rare then. Goood luck to me finding this.
yeah evilmick66 like you said A "Geezer Butler Band" and hardly any shots of Geezer!? That is some serious bull!! cameras are always on the singer and the guitarist(s)being a bassist is unfair but its alot of work!!!
What a mediocre piece of shit - almost worse than 'Seventh Star', the Sabbath album from that time. Geezer's the greatest heavy rock bassist ever, and his lyrics are amazing, but this song is crap. I saw the Heaven and Hell tour in May '07, and he's still at the top of his game.

depends what kind of todays metal, but yeah its better than fucking trivium! yes Ozzy should retire, Geez and Tony can carry on with Dio, that'll b just fine.
