Danny explains the stereotypical american view of abject poverty in India very well. Its hard for americans to understand how a country with 400 million people with no access to a private toilet is able to outsource the launching of satellites into space for most of the western world who cannot do it themselves.
SUPERB answer by Danny on the "Abject poverty" question !! Wow, this man has interpreted India so well, and with so much more depth than the average Western person.
Its something bigger than the caste system, poverty, etc. which people who haven't been there or experienced only understand theoretically.
He' so right about the energy and dynamism of the place. Looks like he didnt see the place with Western eyes. Which is amazing !!
........? what the fuck do the beatles have to do with anything you fucking twat lol? they were not filmmakers numbnuts stop talking bullshit lol THE BEATLES RULE :)
Danny Boyle you are the man. I have seen many movies on Mumbai and really no one has captured it better. Well i would say this movie is an eye opener to the whole world about the real India. There is a huge contrast between the life of poverty stricken people and amazingly wealthy people. Wealthy people i mean for example 3 or 2 of the worlds richest 10 people in the world are from Mumbai!!! We see poverty, we know it and yet we live with it side by side! Fantastic movie. An Oscar worthy movie.
Well answered by Doyle, when asked about "abject poverty" by interviewer. viewers can think of only caste system, abject poverty, slums by seeing the movie. hope they ll realize the other part.
Danny Boyle has creating something truly magical with Slumdog Millionaire. If ever there was a director more deserving of the Best Director Oscar I haven't seen him.
We would like to invite you over for a look at our new clip: India Journal, Where are all the Slumdog Millionaires
