I wish someone would standardize how to pronounce "piezo" Not that you're incorrect, but how you get "pee-aye-zo out of pie-zo I don't get. We call 'em "pie-zo"around here. I've also heard "pee-eye-zoh" .

@moucon in many languages "i" is pronouced as "E"...while "e" gives an "eh" or "aye" type sound... so the proper pronunciation might be dependent on where the original maker was from...

To explain: generally, when an "e" follows an "i" the two are pronounced as "eee" but when the "i" follows the "e" it's pronounced "i", or "aye". Also, when "z" follows a verb ( a, e, i, o, u) you get a "t" sound coming in. For example, the thing you eat is called a "peetza" not a "peeza" although it's spelled pizza!! So piezo gets pronounced as "peetzo", not pie-zo, pee-a-zo or pee-et-zo! Simple, isn't it??!!

The presence of a piezo makes it, essentially, an hybrid acoustic/electric guitar. Piezos capture the instrument's natural acoustic sound, whatever that sound may be.

i dont really care how they look...ive got a synapse bass and i love it..ned steinberger is a genious and an inovator..people dismiss the instruments because they are not tradional looking but i can tell you after owning many steinbergers they are rock solid instruments, easy to use, fun to play and I myself was a kid in the 80s and back the alot of people played them and thats how i fell in love with them, i highly recommend picking one up, they are much improved over the old ones.

there is a folding down leg stand, its really cool. i have one of these, they actually rock pretty hard. the pickups sound really nice, and its surprisingly dense - you cant tell by looking at it, but its actually just as heavy as my mates les paul
