Any Warden who you refuse the Morrigan's ritual is retarded and deserve to die.
Since if you die after killing the Archdemon then you will die without finishing your true goal which is to make sure to destroy the remaning darkspawn leader and rebuild a home for the Wardens and recrute new Warden and finaly find Morrigan and do what you must, follow her or kill/try to kill her I guess?
I easily soloed this whole fight alone on Nightmare mode with my Warrior combat mage...
Anyway I cannot really help out beside giving you few simple tips, make sure you play on Easy mode and e you have alot of healing items and also make sure all your character have the 50% HP self healing tactic finaly you might want to watch few video here on youtube to see how the people are killing the boss.
@GamingDrew13 Also, you can call reinforcement to help you fight the horde you can call them by selecting what kind of reinforcement you want in your skill options if I remember well, but I never used them...
This is such an epic game. I've never let my Warden die but to see this ending shows me that Bioware gave closure to every possible outcome. This will always be my favorite game. It's really sad DA 2 wasn't even half as good as this game and with Mike Laidlaw in charge, future game never will be, The DA franchise continues to die with Laidlaw at the helm.
cry cry cry !!!!! thats not kool ! soooooo not going to let that happening . i just wonder if i play my words right alistair wont have to do morrigans ritual . realy i dont ... again , gotta try and play thoes words right !
I have played this game over 20 times and have always romanced either Zev of Alistair and i have never choose this ending i always did morrigan's ritual but this time i might to see the ending with a romanced Zev
Well it appears that the warden and the champion will have importance in DA3, looking at the ending of DA2 were lilianna says that the disappearance of both is no coincidence, maybe they'll both be companions, or atleast the champion will be.
@Vexanie The same thing always happened to me so I just started leaving him at the city gates everytime I play it. If you're in a romantic relationship with him then leaving him at the gates is the only way to stop him from sacrificing himself.
Awww :'( I was balling when I finished my Dragon Age: Origins game. I sacrificed myself for Ferelden....and I had a romance with Alistair. Seriously, props to Bioware for making such memorable characters. One of the saddest parts for me though, were the goodbyes. I miss all my companions!!! DD': <\3
@Zephur19 sadly it messed up DA2. 1 of my playthroughs the human female made the sacrifice, she was to marry Alistair but she died leaving him heartbroken. But in DA2 it is implied that she is still alive.
@Zephur19 I however was saying to myself "Ah, quite your bitchin', Alistar, I'll be back next Tuesday!" (Anyone who has awakening knows what I'm talking about)
Is it possible to have my female noble warden and Alistair end up together without doing Morrigan's ritual? I don't care if Alistair becomes king or not, I just want them together without Alistair having Morrigan's child.
@LavandulaFairy It is possible. You make Alistair king, you have romance with him. But then youhave to spare that bastard Loghain, to have Morrigan's child
@bacchamae It's not possible, and Alistair will always sacrifice himself after the final battle if he goes with you to fight the Archdemon (what a nice fellow, not negotiating with the one he loves who will die), so pick your poison, let Morrigan have her way, die, or let him die.
@escopeteroce I was so desperate for the Warden and Alistair to end up together without him having a demon baby that I resorted to using a cheat. I never opted for the ritual because I guess I was concerned for what would become of the baby although I know this isn't real life. lol However, my "official" ending was Alistair sacrificing himself (bless his heart...the Warden's still mourning up to now) mostly because I need the Warden for Awakening (it's selfish, I know).
@bacchamae Hey, that's your way, and no one can say anything about that. About me I never accepted sacrificing myself, so I always made a pact with Morrigan, with male or female Warden (Never romancing Alistair, so that wasn't really a problem)
I know the baby means bad news and it's really selfish, but I didn't want my warden to die like that... and then one of them went after Morrigan and his baby, and the other one started living with Leliana (for a while, if DA2 is to be trusted)
@bacchamae I think there is but you have to be UBER persuasive, you need to make Anora queen with Alistair as king, save loghain and make him kill the archdemon, and then you can get to be his mistress or something
@LavandulaFairy does origins have an ending where the warden lives? i romanced leliana (male) and i want to see my warden and leliana be happy together :D
@LavandulaFairy thanks have you played morrowind if so is there a mission you have to escort a dunmer to gnisis i looked on internet i cant find the mission but i swear i thought i had a mission saying escort a female breton or dunmer to gnisis on my orc one she died on my first male orc
At the last line "You'll be missed... more than I can possibly say." I was full of tissues around me. And I cried so hard.
Actually I sacrificed myself on purpose because I wanted to see this scene. As Alistair says "I am a bad, bad man." just a I am. I am a bad bad girl! I sacrificed my character or Alistair just for the romantic/tragic endings and make myself cry. This happens when a girl plays a game like this.
as soon as i read "Ultimate Sacrifice Ending (Human Noble Female)" i was like 'whoa, i was a human noble female who sacrificed herself, let's see if they look the same before i jump to conclusions...'
I think the relationships with the characters in Origins was so much stronger than in DA:2, unfortunately. I'm fawning all over Fenris, but it's mostly his voice actor (Gideon Emery) than his character. @MrsBadExample Agree. DA Origins has to be up there with Kotor, Mass Effect and Neverwinter Nights. Unfortunately DA2 dropped the ball. Not a bad game and still enjoyable, but not in the same league.
@XelestialDragon That's sort of what I was saying. Note that I'm saying "the relationships with the characters" / "the interactions between" / "well fleshed out". It's not that they as characters are bad, it's that we never got to know them, we never got to interact with them really. I'd love to know more about some of them - other than Anders of course. Forget Anders.
@MrsBadExample Yeah, I get it. I mean, I love the conversations in-depth we do have with them, but it's like 9 conversations per character for the whole game compared to Origins' many. I really regret not getting to see the characters grow and understanding their daily life and what they've been doing for the past 3 years, etc. 9 conversations and some remarks is only enough to get the gist of a character. Minus Anders who never shuts up.
whenever i make him king he is the one sacrficing himself and i want to. we r well we were in a relationship. he dumped he to be king and tht i was an elf. how do u convince him to not kill himself. plz!!!!!!
@LavandulaFairy If you talk to Riordan before the main battle and tell him you'd take the blow yourself, and have Alastair and Morrigan sleep together, then 1 he doesn't try to kill himself and 2 you stay together. <3
Such a good game, everything about this is better than its sequel, the characters are more interesting, and go more in depth. The sense of achievement in origins is amazing, i mean at the end you get a celebration/funeral and are honored by the king. What happens in 2? you just kill and walk away. Great. everything about the first is better imo
Out of many games I played, this has one of the saddest, most heartbreaking endings ever. I teared up really bad at the mourning scene after my female noble sacrificed herself... I just wish Alistair could've given her one last kiss or a hug before cremation.. :'(
The best story I've ever played, I finished the game with all the heroes gone :-( but Morrigan and finish the story at the end as my hero Darrian was a loyal friend of the King Allistair, great story and the best game I've ever played
The best story I've ever played, I finished the game with all the heroes gone :-( but Morrigan and finish the story at the end as my hero Darrian was a loyal friend of the King Allistaira, great story and the best game I've ever played
A tear-jerking ending among tear-jerking endings. The fact that this is the player's choice makes it sadder but greater. Fergus refusing Arl Howe's lands and honoring his sibling by giving Amaranthine to the Grey Wardens is a nice touch as well.
I can't imagine being Fergus: You get wounded by Arl Howes men, recover enough to find out your family has been murdered, find out that his brother/sister survived and was trying to search for him but gave up thinking he was dead, and then sacrificed them self to kill the archdemon.
can someone explain this quest to me. Does killing the dragon kill yourself in the process or something? since alistair asks me who wants to kill it? and is there any ending that NO ONE in the party dies? And what dialogue options should i chose if i WANT to sacrifice myself? thanks in advance
@MrFrodo1066 Morrigan will over you an alternative. And that's all I'm saying. This is right before the battle and your personal choices shouldn't really affect it as long as she's in the camp.
@MrFrodo1066 You need to accept Morrigan's offer the night before the battle if you don't want anyone to die as phantomsluva says, if you want to sacrifice yourself you need to decline her offer and in the final battle, you can't pick Alistair in your party. otherwise he'll be the one who dies instead of you.
I asked a good friend what dragon age what like, He replyed "Gay" After not listening to him and buying it anyways i can say this is 1 of the best games i ever spend money on, Coming from someone that owns over 3000 games.
I finally went through the ultimate sacrifice ending, and I damn near cried. It's one thing to watch someone else's videos, another thing entirely to watch your character lying there.
*SPOILER* I just had Morrigan have buttsecks with Alistair to make the baby get corrupted...Then my bitch avatar and Alistair ruled Fereldan together. true story.
WHen I finished the game and Alistair sacrificed himself I wish there was a option of just leaving Ferelden as Alistair does if he is not made King and you sacrifice yourself.
there is. If you are friendly with Sten, you can go to the land of the Qun with him, or travel through Thedas with Leliana if you are friendly or in romance.
@Warrior536 Yes sure but I was more like thinking of Alistair, if you romanced him and you left for awhile to just get some piece and mourn your loss! :P
I really feel sorry for Fergus, i mean i lost his entire family within what a year almost....He lost his wife, son, mother, father, and his little sister :( Poor Guy
You really get into this game...I finished it with my character (female city elf) and this ending yesterday and I had tears in my eye; that's the mark of a great game, if you can become that interested in your characters...
i have the same ending! not the bitch as king :-) i sacrificed myself

myrix92 11 months ago
@myrix92 That would be so sad ;_;

I was fine until Alistair went 'You will be missed..More than I can possibly say.'
Since when he said 'More' he sounded like he was about to cry.. ;~;

The best story I've ever played, I finished the game with all the heroes gone :-( but Morrigan and finish the story at the end as my hero Darrian was a loyal friend of the King Allistair, great story and the best game I've ever played

MrFrodo1066 1 year ago
@MrFrodo1066 Morrigan will over you an alternative. And that's all I'm saying. This is right before the battle and your personal choices shouldn't really affect it as long as she's in the camp.
phantomsluva 1 year ago
