What I wouldn't give to hang out with Jack Dagger for a day and get some pointers on my technique. The only videos I have as of now is just me playing songs but my wife says I should do more on my other hobbies. Is it worth taking the time to video log everything?
@jasonpeters82 Jack actually does personal knife lessons-- check out his channel at JackDaggerTKOF. He's amazing at knowing exactly what you need to change with your throw. In any case, you can always purchase his very informative Knife Throwing 101 DVD on his website!
I grew up on a farm in West Virginia, so chopping wood and splitting kindling, felling trees with double bitted axes was learned very young out of necessity to keep warm. I am very good with these tools in their traditional fashion. But to watch this and see people who can accomplish such skills, I am in awe. I can't throw any 'hawk or blade worth a darn. I'd catch a whoppin had I tried throwing any tool as a kid, which extended in my professional careers. Amazing stuff.
Don't cheat on a chick who can throw an axe. Don't even make her jealous. Just don't piss her off, period, especially when it's that time of the month.
@superherobyday Well way to be a dick about it. I was just informing people because if they think it's made out of damascus they're going to think it was made out of one of the best steels ever, when it really is just for looks on these knives.
@adio222 That was close, because I almost ran out and bought that EXACT tomahawk thinking it was forged in the most powerful alloy short of wolverine's skeleton! So glad someone caught me and corrected their mistake which could have cost people thousands of dollars (collectively of course), or even their lives had they brought this tomahawk into a tomahawk battle thinking it was damascus when really it's just Damascus etched Steel! What a bunch of LIARS!
@superherobyday Bone isn't an alloy. Fucking idiot. And I'd be pretty pissed if I went to sell this to a pawn shop telling them it was damascus and they all looked at me like I was retarded because there isn't any damascus steel anymore. You'd better quit while you're ahead, jackass.
@adio222 So what your saying is, you think some people after watching this video, will be so enthralled by this tomahawk that they will track it down and purchase it specifically because they believe it is made with damascus. Upon receiving this tomahawk they will immediately (or eventually) head to the pawn shop in order to sell this near priceless item (that they purchased for no more than $50) in order to put their kids through college. And you are here to save them from the embarrassment?
@superherobyday It's "you're" in this case. And no. Someone may have found this thing on the internet, and watched this video to give them a better look of it. When people want a damascus knife, they want a damascus knife. And I never said that the person would immediately travel to the pawn shop. Maybe in 20 years, the person would be strapped for cash and think that this is worth a good amount of money, and it isn't.
@adio222 Yeah thanks Mr. Spell. Well let me just say I sure hope they read your comment before this video pushes them over the edge to invest in a faux damascus tomahawk which 20 years down the line they will rely on to bail themselves out of a financial pinch. It's a thankless job being the road cone, but it sure must be gratifying preventing certain disaster. Pat yourself on the back good sir. (god knows nobody else is going to)
@Xolette Ohh ok! Cool! I was getting them mixed up! Does John throw knives and do martial arts too? Your entire crew seem like such a fun bunch! I wish I had friends like you all I would LOVE to throw knives and shuriken and what not. And shoot guns. Grrr people are so boring around me. How did you get into the knife throwing and all? I read your channel about hapkido thats rad. Keep it up! Im a fan of you all! Also do you cook filipino food? Check out my Philippines specific videos!
@JCI1990 I'm glad you've taken interest in his tomahawks! To order one,r send him a message at his YouTube channel, JackDaggerTKOF or you can contact him through the email address he provides on his website. Good luck!
@Rattattattatt I first got into throwing, several years ago, but didn't know what I was doing really. My instructor trained me for two years in throwing...and that... pretty much it from there. I met Jack Dagger through YouTube. He's a great guy and doing another Ren Faire in SoCal during April, in case you're interested.
@Xolette have you ever tried the martial arts called escrima/kali or the karambit? Try that martial arts, I think you'll love it. It deals with a lot of weapons handling. And recently I just bought a SOG tomahawk try that one..
@niniowa20 Thanks for the recommendation-- I'd like to get into Kali when I have time, but yes, a little experience with escrima sticks and karambit. :)
thinking about buying the pipe hawk from uk blades, but i dunno how hard it is to break the pipe part e.g. i need to chop down a small thin tree but i also kinda wanna smoke through it, will it be kool
@raydencarter That's a good question. Never tried it. One thing about no spin though, is that you need something more handle heavy than anything, and a tomahawk is blade heavy and naturally spins. I'm going to say no, but I haven't tried it. Good question. :)
@raydencarter would be interesting to see but cannot bedone sorry the tomahawk is to top heavy and like xollette said the hawk naturally spins ive been throwing for a little over a year and have seen hawks thrown many ways but not with nospin :/
Love it, great curves, and I like the bevels on the first hawk and how the come up right in the middle. The Damascus looks nice too, especially with that deep plunge line. Damascus is a softer steel, how did it hold up on the bounce back?
@jeepzillajoe Yup, they worked just fine! If you're interested in them, please contact my friend, Jack Dagger. He's really good at throwing, especially tomahawks, so I trust any weapon he designs!
Thanks for letting me know about these hatchets. Now I no longer have to choose between throwing hatchets and smoking pcp since these hatchets allow me to do both at the same time. Thanks.
@sirg31 Good question. I don't know. :) The throwing knives that the compamy sells are $40 a piece, so it might be around that range? I'd contact Jack and see!
Thanks for the video! I'm a big fan of Two Finger Knife, they made my damascus knuckles for me, see it in the club photo at: groups.yahoo.com/group/brassknucklescollectorclub

@conleytgn Nice, a muddy Renaissance Faire! My skirt and boots got dusty enough! I thought the Michigan ren fest was such a coincidence, being I'm not from there. :)
@uzerofutube Nope, during the Renaissance Faire. Jack performs as one of the Van Kleaver Brothers (danish chef who throws knives). Check my videos-- you can see his show!
