I always thought the song was about the relationship between a young man and an older, homeless alcoholic ("Razor Face"). Thanks for uploading this long version.
I have the SACD of this album and the version of Razor Face only plays at its original length. Do you need to play the CD on a SACD player to get the extended version?
Let's not forget my friend and fellow worship player, the great Caleb Quaye on electric guitar. I will once again have the privledge of hearing his testimony AND playing alongside him at my church, January 16th, 2010. Awesome chap that Caleb.......gracious, class act.
Christ he was good wasn't he?! I mean unbelievably good. I've never heard this before but i'm buying the album tomorrow, what a GREAT song. wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow!!
One must keep in mind that the genius behind all the "poetry" is Bernie Taupin... but words and music by Elton John and Bernie Taupin...what a magical, divinely connected team.

I wish they still made SACD's. They were an awesome format.

I think the accordian makes this song, great choice of instrument.

Is this track used instead of the shorter version of the song?

Sir Reggie was incredible prior to realising he preferred cock to vag. Never the less elton was a badass in the early years

Elton should've left off All the Nasties and Goodbye and jammed longer with Levon and included this version of Razor Face.

any body smart enough to love elton john is a genius. Elton John says things the way we wish we could. Truly one of the best.

@scarlipgc Hey ....don't forget the awesome sound of Nigel Olsson on drums!!!! Elton's music is not the same without Nigel on drums ;)

I like both, however the live version has more of a 'real' feeling.
