  • well i like loreena mckennitt's songs when my friends knew abt it they laughed saying i was becoming older fast but i still like her songs despite being young..she is one of those people who help u see and live, if for only moments, past the visible world

  • i used to like alot the Kelly Family :) i still do love their music. think they are great! :)

  • I love Boney M. For me they are favorite. My parents grew up on this music and so there is nothing strange, that i am inherite this 80's disco style of them.I am feeling good when i listening to them.

  • funny what we do or say sometimes just to fit in :)

  • I love children's art! All kinds of music, even what was termed 'bubble gum' songs because the music was upbeat and we loved to dance. So that is why I liked Stars On 45. I loved Kenny Rankin, Eddie Garr and Dion Dimucci. All of these people eventually became personal friends. Strange but true! Love sculptures of Henry Moore, Brancusi, Giacometti, Camile Claudel (so many more).

  • Oh, I like lebaneese singer Nancy Ajram. Originally I'm from Ukraine, and our pple do not like artists who's done many plastic surgeries, as Nancy did. But as I looke at her, I see a woman who had a natural desire to be beautiful. Now she definitely is, and I even noticed that her music has changed compared to the times before plastic surgery. It's kind of filled with joy, with sunshine. It is silly, but that's how I see it.

  • I love magic... Eugene Burger is a fine example of this art that can make you look at life from a different angle.

  • Terry Wogan on BBC Radio 2 here in the U.K. Radio 1 is for young and up and coming people, radio 3 is classical music, radio 4 is news. Radio 2 is middle of the road. Mind you, millions of people listen to it, but I don't like to confess it in the office!

  • i love ABBA too! gosto de feijão com arroz e tb gosto caviar! Posso viver sem caviar, não consigo viver sem feijão com arroz!

  • I love Anita O'day. She was an awesome jazz vocalist that did not receive much recognition. My peers and family to do not have a clue about her.

  • Dante Gabriel Rosetti! The guy is dead by now unfortunately, but he was a MASTER painter! A lot peepz don't know his work, he was one of the 'pre-raphaelites' - google it 4 pictures (yum yum, gr8 paintings, lov him!!)

  • @JustineAimee He's a Master, nothing hidden there !?

  • Well I found out recently that I also liked ABBA but for some reason, it doesn't seem politically correct nowadays to tell my friends that I like ABBA. lol

  • Sofia Coppla's films like Marie Antoinette and the Virgin Suicides. They're awsome but I don't think my Friends are fond of them.

  • MADONNA

  • I like HOWARD STERN.

  • MICHAEL JACKSON

  • Ah c'mon Paulo!I thought we were about to get into a video about the REAL secret and hidden arts of magick and healing there. For what it's worth I love Dr Phil :o) Even tho these talk shows are a horrible vibration to start the day on! Happy sunshine :o)

  • Well I used to like Brittney Spears... lol... now I also like Celine Dion... her voice is sooo powerful..

  • I love Abba, :) you´ve got a brother in arms there :), Also romantic operetta songs like We´ll gather lilacs" sung by old romantic singers . . . . sounds like ice cream with hot caramel sauce m m m m

  • Floricienta jajaja, era una serie para niñas chiquitas :D

  • SHEILA CHANDRA *

  • When i was younger i loved comics and manga, i loved Ghost Rider there was an illustrator in special i loved and the comics thoght me to draw i would sit with them and copy the drawings also loved Rodney mathews work for Lp covers and fantasy themes. Then i thought i would be rather an ilustrator than a formal painter, cause illustrators have more freedom to experiment and are not subjected to art critics. That stayed in the past, im recovering it now thanks to you Paulo:)

  • Celine Dion and TATU

  • I like japanese anime and manga. It is cartoons and comic books intended for kids, teenagers and even adults. I love them. I love the stories, I love the characters portrayed and I love the drawn art. I've gotten to a point where I can post on my facebook all the stuff I like, whether it's politically correct or not, to celebrate who I am... so others and I can see how much alike we are in our differences :D

  • I believe Dani Filth to be an extremely profound artist, a word juggler like very few others, but many would think of his work as grotesque or evil.

I am also quite fond of Shunya Yamashita's anime figurines/sculptures, yet many would find them sexually degrading or vulgar.

There are many underrated artists, and we all have different perspectives. Respect others' personal upbringing and tastes.

(by the way it is great to be in touch with you Paulo, great to have you personally blog like this)

  • I really like Celine Dion despite the ridicule she has been given over the last few years. She handles it gracefully and with courage. I like that she sings from her heart and gives you everything that she can when she sings. You never feel that she holds anything back or is self-conscious in anyway. I love that about her!!

  • it might sound weird, but i like marilyn manson and im kind of preppy, talking about art i like everything abstract...

  • where i live, it is forbidden to listen to hard rock music...e.g. i'd lose my job if i tell anybody that i like artists like U2, Guns n' Roses, and Adam Lambert

  • I love rock and hard music, in the last four years i had to move to a new country where society is so restircted. e.g. i can't tell anybody that i listen to hard rock, e.g. i couldn't say that i support Adam Lambert! coz it's forbidden here to support people who has a style like his

  • as for painting, i love Rob Ross.

Actually not for what he made, but for the way he did it: how he made painting accessible as a hobby to a large group of people. I am not a great fan of the "great Dutch" painters like Rembrandt or van Gogh. I dont like Rubens either. but that is for a more personal reason. I am full figured, like the women in his paintings. And i see there what i dont like about myself. As for music: I studied classical music, but was -and still am- a hard rock and folk fan.

  • Im almost 20 and I've always loved Roald Dahl and Enid Blyton. The imagination that it brings!

  • I've always loved ABBA! :D I'm nearing 40 years old, and I loved the Twilight books, as well as Harry Potter. I am absolutely enchanted the works of Michael Parkes, which can be found in every franchised frame and poster shop in the U.S. It's hard for me to think of more because I'm really not secret about the things I like. I know they don't always mesh with what critics would approve of, but I've never really cared. I've always been too strange to fit in, so why start trying now?

  • ...but even this was a veiled attempt at 'cool'. And I see this manifest all too frequently today: We have become a people obsessed by what our peers will judge us by. How many albulms have you bought which you may not have (initially anyway) liked?! How many bars, clubs and venues have you attended which you really DON'T value, but feel you must be seen in? Of course, this is a topic which could provoke the most lengthy response....! :-0

  • It's a very interesting post, Paulo: This subject of what we ACTUALLY like or value, but which may not correspond to the values of our chosen (or unchosen) community! A sociological question which I wrangled with some years ago in formal education...I'm at a point in my life where I have begun to remove the restrictions I once placed upon myself...I considered myself 'uncool',

  • i love CS Lewis, and Dante...

  • i love abba too :D

  • I'm going to turn this question around to - 'What is it that you don't like and most people like?'

I answer this by saying drinking alcohol excessively and listening to nightclub music.

  • Well when it comes to music I love folk -and worldmusic. Most people here don't.

And "eco"artworks made of rubbish and leftovers. I'm not ashamed, but it's hard to find likemided people in the area. I also like modern poetry, without rhytmn or ryme, just the beauty of the words. I live in a quite traditional area I guess :-D

  • oh!I love all those things too.I'm an eco artist myself, and only a in the beginning of this year I started feeling that people are starting to become more flexible when it comes to stuff like that because of the economical crisis.and talking about music I also like artists like a.orlova, and people in my country really prefer to underestimate her because of some silly reasons and if I told somebody that I liked her there,I could as well get smacked in the face :|

    I also agree with timshel84:)

  • well i don't think i have a specific artist that i secretly like that i think other people don't. or that they might look at me with weird eyes. but i like abstract and expressionism art - and impressionism. And also, I really like jackson Pollock's paintings :)

And then stuff like graffiti, but i guess a lot of people like graffiti too. and then i like art that are both realistic and unrealistic, and i think my friends usually only appreciate realistic artworks.

  • i love britney spears. i know she's not a great singer but she's a person who has shown everyone that people are nothing more than souls trying to fit it. and when that fails, we lose control and make bad decisions that are hard to correct.

  • Adoro Strindberg, Rylke, y Coelho, aunque alguno pueda considerarme sentimental. Esta es una cuestion que todavia no logro resolver. En este mundo siempre mas racional, todo lo que toca de alguna manera los sentimientos corre el riezgo de ser considerado banal, mientras que lo complicado se respeta solo per ininteligible. I love you!

  • Hola Paulo!

  • Yesterday I was reading about the Spanish "novela rosa" and remembered how much I loved reading books when I was younger by Luisa María Linares. I started thinking of getting old books by "Rafael Pérez y Pérez". it is probably socially incorrect.. but I want to read them:-) When I was 14, I liked reading La Ciudad y Los Perros, El Astrágalo, "A Sangre Fría", I did not mention it at school. Nowadays I love very much Flaubert and Balzac and don't know if its politically correct or not.

  • I have read all William Shatner's novels and other books as well as some of his Tekwar comics . And watched some of the films in which he played other than Star Trek. And I like watching Boston Legal in which he stars.

    I suppose I am a big fan....Oops....
