No never, I'm guessing what happened is that it did spark the interest of Trip Hawkins at the time but that he soon after found out the system was a bit to weak for games and Philips probably didn't care much for a company that was just making games either. It's just an assumption, but it'd make sense that he wasn't happy with te end features of the system and thus made his own CD-i (3DO).
Dark castle was published by Philips themselves, so not sure what EA's part in that is.
I'm pretty sure the CD-i could not handle Space Hulk. That game uses to much scaling and rendered graphics for the tiny bit of CD-i video memory. Even with the expansion it's very weak.
Atlantis: The Last Resort is about as close as it gets to it and if you look at that game it's quite a step back with very bland levels and ememies. But that game is a powerhouse on the system already!
It is worth a mention that the CD-i is one of the earliest consoles with online play in a FPS though.
It was called RAMraid and it came out in 1996. It was a first person shooter game and was later made into a single player game (Atlantis) because it wasn't catching on to much.
It did have leaderboards and all that good stuff, in some ways pretty inovative for consoles of the time.
I do have a ST, but not that long. I was more of a commodore boy ;)
I never played it online, I was a PC gamer back then and the gameplay didn't look that great to me at all. The modem add on for the CD-i was also crazy expensive, plus you needed a subscriptions to CD-i Online I think.
The ST and Amiga are both great things, I'll still go with the Amiga over the ST though. Did you know that some people still use the Amiga as a computer today? Pretty crazy! They made it up to date with the latest techs and such.
HURRY UP AND MAKE ANOTHER ONE OF THESE!!!! ;D
Seriously, though, I wanna know more!

Ooh, conspiracy :D Trip saw what they could do with the CD-i, and thought they could do better with the 3DO. That could be true.
Surprising that they didn't' release anything though, EA will publish on any old piece of shit. I've got EA games on the Apple Pippin even!
I wonder if the CD-i could have handled early 3DO games like Space Hulk?

I did not know that, I'd love to see what sort of power a modern Amiga can do though.
