Well I've not been on giffgaff for a week and it's all working good, one down fall and that's the data, it works and then it doesn't work, although I'm sure this problem will go away shortly!

@hugh19882 Ah actually no it depends on what you want, tesco is barely cheaper if you use normal credit on giffgaff, but giffgaff goodybags makes it much cheaper.

The triple credit tesco uses only lasts for a month and then that credits gone.

Understood but it sounds like you want a totally free service. Not payinf for any airtime what so ever. No upkeep of service or anything. £5 for a huge amount of free calls and texts a month is a bargain. If you're after something free for calling and IMing then you can try three. Who are offering free skype access calls and IMs to ALL customers for no top up. The drawback is you have to use the skype client. Personally I think the topup schedule is minimal and the reward is fair with giffgaff

Skype you cannot operate without a MMVO network on a phone for free over a 3G connection. There was a service called Blyk, it advertised by sending you a spammy text every few days. I liked it as it gave me £50 worth of calls and texts for nothing.

I know and they didn't give it to you for nothing. They marketed towards you and were in effect forcing these onto you and making companies pay so the operator was being paid by them. I think it failed due to massively falling advertising revenues in all mediums. So the service still needs to be paid for. It's cheap £5 a month is in effect a bargain
